Customer Question: “Can I Purchase Parts from You?”

This is a question that we’ve heard a few times in the last month, and we’d like to address it here. The simple answer is that we are not a parts supplier, and do not selling plumbing components. We offer something much larger than parts, as we’ll explain.
What You Get When You Call Us

We are a service company. That means when contact us, you receive the complete service you need for you plumbing (or heating system), including the necessary parts. Our professional plumbers will supply the parts that are required to complete the job. In most cases, they will already have the parts on their truck, ready to go. In some cases, a part may need to be ordered. We will always tell you up front about ordering a part and what it will cost.

You can purchase a part on your own and then contact us to install it. We strongly recommend that you don’t attempt to install parts you purchased yourself. But you should also be cautious about making these purchases in the first place, since you could end up with the incorrect part. You can trust to our experience when it comes to identifing the right parts for the job.
A special word regarding sump pumps

This is a good point to mention sump pumps, which are a common installation this time of year because of the rainy season. (If you don’t already have a sump pump, we recommend you look into getting one.) Customers often want to have price quote over the phone about replacing a sump pump, but this is one particular service that we cannot provide a price for on the phone. There are too many factors involved in replacing a sump pump, such as the sump (the pit) itself, the size of pump needed, and warranty options. One of our technicians must visit your home to make an assessment and then provide an accurate price. This is also why you shouldn’t purchase your own sump pump first and then look for installation service.

Your Garbage Disposal is Broken: Signs that You Need Professional Repair

A garbage disposal unit is a popular upgrade to many kitchens in this country. Whether you’re concerned about the amount of food waste that ends up in your trash, or you simply want to worry less about the food scraps that go down into your wastewater system, it makes a lot of sense to have one of these units purring underneath the sink with only the flip of a switch. But like any other part of your home, they will occasionally run into problems. So long as you’ve had yours professionally installed and use it appropriately, it should work well for years to come. But even well maintained disposal units run into problems.

What is that horrifying sound? If it sounds as though your garbage disposal unit is exorcising demons rather than grinding vegetable scraps, then you’ve got a problem on your hands. There are plenty of reasons why your garbage disposal unit could be making that noise. There could be a loose or damaged component therein, or there could be a spoon lodged in there. Handling such components can be dangerous, so leave it to the pros.
The stupid thing won’t turn on. It’s frustrating when you invest in a product with the understanding that it will work, and then it fails you. Before you break out the baby sledge to teach it a lesson, though, you may want to hit the reset button in the sink cabinet below. If that doesn’t bring you results, then there could be an electrical malfunction.
It’s clogged. Make sure that you use your disposal unit correctly. Coffee grounds, potato peels and other starchy foods, banana peels and other fibrous foods—these are substances that are best disposed of elsewhere. If you find that your disposal unit is clogged, then it may continue to shut down automatically. But in either case, it’s important that you have it looked at by a pro plumber sooner than later.

We’ll have your garbage disposal unit fixed in no time at all. Call our expert plumbers today for garbage disposal services, including repair, maintenance, installation or replacement.

Belt Press and Dewatering Equipment Rentals

A ship engine failed, no one could fix it. Then they brought in a man with 40 yrs. on the job. He inspected the engine carefully, top to bottom. After looking things over, the guy reached into his bag and pulled out a small hammer. He gently tapped something. Instantly, the engine lurched into life. The engine was fixed! 7 Days later the owners got his bill for 10k. 'What?!' the owners said 'You hardly did anything. Send us an itemized bill. ” the reply simply said Tapping with a hammer. $2 Knowing where to tap? $9,998 Don't Ever Underestimate Experience.

Why Is There a Rumbling Sound Coming from My Water Heater’s Tank?

Odd noises from an appliance are an important warning that something is wrong with it. But when your water heater tanks starts to give off a rumbling sound, you might be a bit more likely to panic: is the water tank on the verge of bursting?

Probably not. We can give you that reassurance. However, you’re right to pay attention to this sound, since it may indicate a problem in the water heater that needs professionals to fix. We’ll look at reasons why the water heater may be acting this way.
Sediment at the bottom of the tank

This is one of main causes for a rumbling sound from a water heater tank. Over time, minerals in the water (primarily calcium) will start to form sediment along the bottom of the tank of the water heater. This will trap a layer of water between the sediment and the heat exchanger beneath, which is where heat from the burners is transferred to the water. The layer of water will boil, percolating up through the sediment and creating the rumbling noise.

This is a problem because that sediment restricts proper heat exchange, forcing the burner to stay on longer to properly heat the water. This means wasted energy and also a tank that will overheat, leading to a faster deterioration. Repair technicians will need to come in and drain and flush the tank to remove the sediment.
Broken dip tube

The dip tube carries cold water down through the middle of the tank and deposits it near the heat exchanger. If the tube breaks, it will deposit this cold water near the top of the tank, where it will mix with the hot water and create the rumbling sound. The tube needs to be replaced, or soon you won’t be receiving much hot water at all.
