#PortalAppeals  New Submission Appeal
Thomas Neval House
338 S. 4th St Philadelphia, PA USA
(39.94398, -75.148968)

A historic site officially designated by the city that got mysteriously rejected. This is the home of Thomas Neval, a noted 18th Century master carpenter who built (among other things) the clock tower and steeple for Independence Hall and helped construct the defensive fortifications for Philadelphia during the Revolutionary War. The picture isn't great (blame the signmakers for using a tiny font, too), but you can see more information about Mr. Neval here:

I hope Niantic will reconsider this submission.

Roxy Theater
2023 Sansom St, Philadelphia
(39.9515328, -75.1745723)

The Roxy Theater is a local landmark - an independent theater that opened in the city 40 years ago. It went out of business several years ago, but was subsequently purchased by the Philadelphia Film Society - in part through funds raised with a Kickstarter crowdfunding campaign - and has become a center for community events and (of course) for screening of indie and foreign films as well as special PFS exhibitions. See here for more details:

I believe this qualifies the Roxy as both a "hyper-local spot" and "a community gathering place", and hope that Niantic will reconsider this portal.
