Matt Cutts: "I wouldn't expect a link from a widget to necessarily carry the same weight as an editorial link freely given..."

Matt also gives clues about the scale of your widget and infographic link building. He seems to imply that nofollow is much more important on large scale link building.

In this week's Whiteboard Friday, I rant a bit about infographics, and how other kinds of visual assets may be better for content marketing & SEO: http://moz.com/blog/why-visual-assets-are-better-than-infographics-whiteboard-friday

Still think Google+ doesn't matter?

My 17 top Google+ posts earned 1813 clicks in Google's organic search results over 3 months.

Imagine if I was a big brand. Imagine if I posted more than once a day. How many visits could I drive? How many people would view my  identity?

The amazing thing is this was organic search traffic - people looking for something specific and Google sent them my way!

Want to see how many organic visits your Google+ posts have attracted? Use the authorship stats in Google Webmaster Tools and filter for Google+. Big thanks to +Dan Petrovic for the tip.
A neat way to get statistics on your Google+ profile and associated posts.
