I took the CWP class at Plant City Gun Range and I was terribly disappointed. Instruction consisted of "Always treat the gun as if it is loaded", and "I refuse to talk about CWP laws. If you want to know anything about CWP, buy my $30 book" Then we fired 5 shots from a .22 pistol that jammed on my wife 2 out of the 5 times. I feel as if I need to find another CWP class to actually learn anything about CWP. It's scary to think this class allows people to now carry with such little instruction and knowledge.

Charlie, the owner, is friendly and knowledgeable. He has been nothing but fair and friendly with me and my father. We live in the area and shoot often. I've been to other ranges in the Tampa area and definitely prefer Plant City Gun Range, hands down. When the Glock 9mm that I bought had an issue with the backplate, he quickly replaced it with a smile. Personally, I'm not going to another gun range.

My son and I go there to shoot together and love it. My wife and I recently bought a pair of Glock 26 pistols at a great price. If you're in the market for a firearm, go here. If you want an indoor pistol range, go here.

Ive been to this range a few times and had some issues each time. Not all was bad they did have ammo I was after and the prices aren't horrible either but the service has alot more to be desired. I shot there a few months ago and forgot to bring my range bag with me and they offered the in store ears and glasses and I used them. After I was done shooting the guy working took them from us and hung them back up from the same hanger he gave them from giving me great confidence that i just used nasty used ears and glasses.THIS IS NOT A SAFE PRACTICE. At shoot straight and shooters world Ive always scene them wiping down and cleaning the used ones before handing them back out. Secondly the guy im assuming is the owner ( an older gentleman) has always been pleasant but the so called gun smith (the fat guy) talks down very condescendingly every time im forced to interact with him and has no reason to be around the front counter. Hes a good reason id much rather drive over to thonotsassa indoor shooting range "the range" or even to shooters world over off Fletcher in Tampa. I most likely wont be returning to this location.

yesterday a buddy of mine called this store looking for a glock. the person on the phone helped him and said i have the one you are looking for. my buddy told me this store has a bunch of guns. i called today to see if they had the one i was looking for. i was nice and asked if they had any of the 3 guns i was looking for the man on the phone was nasty to me. he began to talk down to me and said i don't think they even make what you are looking for. i said they do because i've seen it in other places. he began to yell at me that he couldn't sell me what he didn't have. once again my question was "do you have any of these guns in stock?" i wasn't demanding he sell it to me. he then told me he does have them and then i asked what is the price. he said he does not give prices on the phone and i would have to drive to him to see it and hung up. so this guy was a total jack*$$ to me and expects me to spend my hard earned money to keep his crappy store in the middle of nowhere in business? i will never go or buy do anything associated with this place.

Plant City Gun Range is a very good range. The air quality is among the best in the county. The noise level is very good. At least half the ranges in the county have unacceptably loud ranges. Plant City Gun Range is easy on the ears. The owner and staff are very accomedating of shooters and as long as there is no waiting line, they do not mind if you keep shooting. Someday that may change, but it has been that way for as long as I remember, and I don't think it will change in the future... it just makes good business sense. Other ranges should be as kind. The only thing I wish was better is the lighting. While it has improved recently, it is still darker than other ranges in the area... but not too dark to hinder the enjoyment of the range. I shoot here even though I have a membership at another range in the area.
