The place is nice and so is the service but the food is disappointing. Worst fries ever, I was really surprised, they are cold and so dry like cardboard chips, the steak was okay. The fish was overcooked. Goat cheesecake was good though. I was expecting better quality and better presentation for that price. Si vous êtes français n'y aller pas.

We have been coming annually to my friend Gabi's for almost 12 years. This is my favorite Chicago restaurant. The service is always fantastic... Not good, fantastic! I have never had a bad meal here, this place is it.

this place is great! I highly recommend it. The food was obviously outstanding. I recommend the scallops for an appetizer. The location and atmosphere of the restaurant is great. It was very nice but also comfortable. What I loved most, though, was the outstanding service. The waiter was extremely friendly and genuine and really gave us a great experience. Definitely check this place out! Also, forgot to mention, they are very reasonably priced!

Meh. I was hoping for more since one of my friends raved about this place... but it was just okay. It's a cute little bistro looking place, that seems French-ish and has a cute little cart they roll around that carries all of the wine. Fancy, ingenious little thing there. We ordered the country pate, smoked salmon and escargot to start off. The escargot was too pesto-y for me, they should have cut back on the parsley. The smoked salmon was the best of the appetizers. I wasn't really a fan of the country pate. For the mains, my friend got a duck cassoulet and I got the fish of the day, which was a pan seared whitefish with carrot puree, some greens (maybe kale) and pine nuts. The fish was good... crispy on the outside and very flavorful. The duck wasn't bad either... but it wasn't great. For dessert, we ordered the profiterole--- which was too hard and dry. It should have been softer. BUT it was MASSIVE. The soft ice cream on the inside was delicious, and they drizzled hot chocolate sauce all over it. But still, the hardness of the pastry turned me off from on. The waiter was attentive all throughout--- and after he paid, he said for us to take our time, but then it seemed like we were being shooed out of the restaurant. Weird. Ahh so my search for a great French place in Chicago continues.

Our table was a tad too dark. They sat a family immediately next to us when there were plenty of other open tables. We were satisfied with the food but it wasn't as great as I had been expecting. We will go again and give them another try. Lovely place and good service. Wine recommendation was spot on.

One of the best pork chops I've ever had. Steak was just ok. Scallops were seared nice and were ok. Cappuccinos are excellent!

Really liked this spot. Great atmosphere for a date and is pretty cute inside. The food was awesome and great prices. Got the filet and it was awesome! Had the banana crepe for dessert and it was nasty- just covered in syrup. Do not recommend it but recommend the steaks.

Mon Ami Gabi is a very good restaurant with delicious food and a great ambiance. The parking can be a bit of a hassle, but the valet is very quick and affordable!
