"Bernie Sanders delivered a speech that showed that liberalism is alive and well. Republicans are trying to use democratic socialism as a slur, but they are doing so out of fear."

Thank you for inviting me into this community. I began studying I-Ching in 1995, eventually to whittle down my writings into 64, 6-line poems. I called this 'The Book of Gardens', and wanted to see my poems on the wall together. I've attached a photo of me sitting in front of the work where I instruct on meditation and give I-Ching Questions Sessions, and have published the poems in book form (see links below). Here is an excerpt from the book. Enjoy & please contact me to share ideas and insight with I-Ching & art(!)

From the forward:
"...The paper upon which the poems are printed for the artwork has a yellow-ish background and a gold-silver luminescent quality. I found the paper in a trendy upscale stationary store amongst wedding invitation papers (a hunt which took place somewhere around the writing of #32 Constancy, the classic point for any writer to wander away from their work!) ... I found that this paper in its appearance contained a qualitative movement of all the elements: earth, air, water, fire – all as one, all intermingled in the seeming background pattern. And then, once hung on the wall, and with sunlight awakening into the room onto the work, the silver-gold quality disappeared while the black printed text emerged(!) Thus at night it followed: as the sun began to set, the black words steadily disappeared while the silver-gold quality marched steadily into the foreground, a kind of pulling-focus. And so 'the book' continues today, with any given movement of light across the work, day or night, poems appearing and disappearing over the course of their viewing, seemingly following the weather. It was a tremendous surprise, and yet I found no different than the clouding and/or clarity of our thoughts: no different also than that lover’s dance of yin & yang.

This accident, this action in the artwork, I found true to I-Ching. Any given hexagram can reference at least twenty-four other hexagrams in an immediate moment of time, as per the dynamics of yin & yang. (And so then do those twenty-four reference each another twenty-four, self contained to the total sixty-four. And so on. Day in. Day out.) Such progression in awareness, or advancement, is to me indicative of the aim in Mindfulness, extending ones capacity to hold a conscientious ground. The work, once hung, possessed suddenly an alive and elemental quality; an impermanent, holographic, and self-referencing phenomena. Which again by no coincidence resembles how I came to understand I-Ching as a powerfully organized expression of eco-theology, a subject which gives in me great passion as you will later witness.

As more people view this work, I continue to be offered pleasant surprises in how each viewer would have presented the I-Ching through art. Each person becomes rather dizzy with their idea of presenting this Garden - infectious passion that 'gardening' is! And not to spoil a thing, this volume ends for you with an invitation... There were several bumps along the way in the artwork's creation which I think amounted to little tests on insuring my intent. At many points I was strangely humbled-and-yet-praised by these bumps and surprises, eventually having to claim "the artist is not at work," notably with this interaction of the framed artwork in a sunlit room over the course of the day. The inherent risk in being an artist is to confess publicly that one might actually be nuts, and that exact doubt became my forge - my 'cauldron' (#50) – honing in my study and development. Could there be any coincidence that the work itself also gave rise to something on the nature of 'coincidence?' "

And so I would be delighted for a copy of "The  Book of Gardens" to find a home on the bookshelves of other artists dedicated to this remarkable oracle <3
