I've just upgraded xubuntu on my HP TabletPC and I'm liking the Whisker Menu, but my only gripe with it is that the menu is not bind to the super key or any key that is. So I added that key bind.

If anybody is wondering you go to menu>settings manager and scroll down to "Keyboard" and click on the "Application Shortcuts" tab and Click on the "+Add" button. Enter in to text box "xfce4-popup-whiskermenu" and click "OK". When prompted to click on the Super Key( windows key if anybody is wondering) , and there you go. The whisker menu can be open with press of a button making launching applications much like synapse. ^^

I hope that would be a help to you any of you XFCE users. ^^

What a great discussion! Loved the episode!
I do have one comment though. What if Mir and Wayland collaborated on a toolkit independent abstraction layer (maybe integrated on both systems) to mitigate the problem that +Chris Fisher covered earlier where a developer would need to ether optimise one platform over the other or ignore one platform completely? I don't do much of desktop app development but I can relate to that scenario as I am more focused on web development and trust me, it is painful having to deal with browser incompatibility. At least you guys don't have to deal with Microsoft sticking their noses where they shouldn't and messing everything up.

"Ghost town"

This is the kind of disparity I see on a near-daily basis when looking at posts I've shared on Facebook and Google+.

This is obviously just a random case study and not all variables are equal, but it's an example of what makes me chuckle every time I hear people talking about how Google+ is a "ghost town" that "no one uses" -- when what they really mean is that it's a service they haven't taken the time to explore and find a community within.

If this is a "ghost town," it sure is fun hanging out with all you fellow phantoms.
