Chau Chow Cities food tastes different than other Chinese restaurants with the same style food. This ranges from dim sum through entrees. The food is fresh and the waiters capable and personable but I prefer the flavors at their competition. Maybe the food here is more authentic and less Americanized?

Food: dim sum was very good. We ordered some dim sum and they cooked for us, just with some wait. Prices are very reasonable. The restaurant looks old, like the typical Chinatown type. This may turn off some people. Some may not care. The wait staff were nice. I figure it was not very busy and they could be more attentative. Overall, it serves real Chinese dim sum. And it is an old Chinatown restaurant.

Now this is some amazing, low priced dim sum. They make a mean shrimp dumpling and the pork bao is sweet as can be. I haven't had better dim sum or Chinese anywhere in Boston, but that isn't saying very much.

Peking was lovely, chose the buns and love scallion peppers on side. Also share shark soup with chicken as a special treat. Chairs were hard and decor is worn...bathrooms are an tragedy for such good service and nice food.

The speed of delivery is incredible, even for a Dim Sum joint, but unfortunately the cart selections are just OK. With the exception of the har gow, the shu mai and the dumplings were too sweet for our taste. And they don't serve turnip cake! The rice cakes were very good for dessert.
