A 200MW combined-cycle power plant in Aboadze, Ghana, has been ordered from GE. Once operational, the 200 MW plant will be one of the most efficient power plants in the country and will generate the equivalent power needed to supply more than one million Ghanaian homes

The China Petroleum and Chemical Corporation (Sinopec) is reportedly close to finalising a deal to buy Chevron's South African oil assets. Vitol Group and Sinopec were identified as the two final bidders by insiders, who declined to be named.

Vital Engineering has successfully completed the two largest gratings, handrail and stair tread supply contracts in Africa to date. The contracts were for the supply of 70km of hand railing and over 8 000 stair treads to Eskom’s Medupi and Kusile power station projects, as well as 100 000m2 of grating panels per power station.
