I do not recommend this restaurant. We waited for over 45 minutes for our food to arrive. During this wait, we saw other folks that came in after us, receiving their food before us. The waitress decided to ignore our table completely. The manager went around to everyone's table (except ours) asking how the service/food was. She looked over at us and kept a stepping. Finally, we flagged the manager down and complained about the wait and the awful service. She did not really seem to care. Where do restaurants find Managers these days (A sorry choice). When the food finally came, it was definitely not worth the wait. We were in South Dakota visiting from Colorado and this restaurant was our only disappointment. It's the first time I did not leave a tip, not even a penny. Stay away from this place.

Wait time for a table was longer than what we were told. They gave us a free appetizer because of that. The Chicken Parmesan was delicious and very large portions. I ordered steak done medium and no pepper - steak was served well done and loaded with pepper. They took it back right away and brought me a different one. It was delicious, one of the best I've ever had. The service was wonderful. Noone is perfect and they corrected the issues we had with no questions. Would definately recomend it to anyone. Will go again next time in Rapid!

We are a local couple from rapid. The plain and simple fact s that the bartenders are the saving grace of this establishment. They are professional and show a genuine sense of caring for their guest and they are fun to boot. My advice to everyone is sit at the bar, you will get better service and and have a great lunch/dinner experience.

I thought it was odd that so many people complained about the service. I've been to Longhorn Steakhouse about 8 or 9 times since they opened in October and went there both during the week AND the weekend for lunch and dinner. Each time I was treated like a valued customer. I've only had one issue, which was when I ordered a medium-rare Outlaw and they cooked it medium-well; the manager immediately came out, apologized and offered to buy my dessert. Even during that visit the waiter was very kind and gave me GREAT service throughout the entire time I was there. Maybe it's because I've worked in restaurants for over 10 years, first in Rapid City and also after I moved to New York, but I think some of the reviews are just whining and nitpicking. Occasionally, cooks in any restaurant, no matter how amazing a restaurant it is, WILL cook your food wrong. Unfortunate mistake but it does happen. If you come into a restaurant during hours that aren't usually busy, but for some odd, unknown reason a lot of people come in at one time, yes, you may have to wait a while even if there are a ton of booths open. NO restaurant will have it's entire staff on during its slow hours; that's how any company would lose money. It's okay to be hungry, but patience and understanding is what a lot of customers lack in restaurants. I, along with most other waiters, do not even make half of what minimum wage is. We rely solely on our tips. And many things that go awry is out of our control, which is a little daunting considering all the crap we often have to put up with on a daily basis. That being said, from an impatient, bad attitude point of view, I would agree that the service is as bad as some people have mentioned. From a patient guest, and also from someone who has worked in several restaurants and has lived in Rapid City for 20 years of their life, I'd say that this is Rapid's BEST steakhouse and one of the best restaurants as far as food and service in the area. The only thing I'd complain about is the music. Too much country for me. I'll be going back to NY in February and plan on finding the closest Longhorn soon as I get there.
