Scott Ashby is a native of Courtland, ON. He studied piano in Brantford with Virginia Blaha and completed the Performers’ ARCT. He attended Bob Jones University (Greenville, SC) where he obtained a B.Sc. in Music Education and a M.Mus. in Choral Conducting. Scott has taught piano on all levels and has experience conducting bands and choirs, on the elementary, secondary, and university levels. He also has a keen interest in music theory. He served for a time on the faculty of Bob Jones University (Greenville, SC), where he conducted the BJJH Concert Winds, taught sight-singing and piano, served as the Vesper Music Coordinator, and prepared opera choruses for Giordano's Andrea Chenier and Donizetti's Elixir of Love. Scott currently owns and manages Ashby Musical Enterprises , and serves as the Associate Pastor at Graceway Baptist Church (Milton, ON). He also teaches piano at Trinity Christian School (Burlington) and is a member of the Ontario Registered Music Teachers' Association. His most recent activities involve the development of online theory classes for RCM exam preparation.
