Fish and chips has been the country's number one meal for over 150 years now, but in that time it has changed quite a bit. Many shops still fry the 'traditional' way - that is using beef dripping. This has a distinctive flavour but sadly it is very high in saturated fat and we now all know that this is a major cause of heart disease. So we fry in rapeseed oil. It is UK sourced; much is grown by our local farmers; the oil only contains 7% saturated fat so is much better for your heart; it is high in polyunsaturates, naturally contains no cholesterol or transfats; best of all - with our local grown potatoes, it tastes marvellous!
We think it gives the batter an extra crunch too so come and try it!
