Can I give it NEGATIVE 20 stars?? TEXANS BEWARE this is NOT authentic Texas fare! Brisket was like shoe leather - so dry and unpalatable it turned to dust in your mouth. One bite was all it took for me to send it back! Also Barbacoa enchilada was inedible - I literally spit it out and sent that back too. We paid for the beer and left - after snarky comments from the waiter and the Manager admitting that both of those dishes had been specifically complained about that day. They should change their name to NOTHING LIKE AUSTIN GRILL!

We went 9/14/12. The margaritas were good. My boyfriend got the brisket though and heads up to anyone with an actual appetite- the portion size they sent out was the equivalent of 3 strips of thick bacon. 3. I think a 5 year old could have eaten all the brisket and still been hungry. I got the Ahi Tuna Burger. What they don't tell you is that it's not just a slab of ahi tuna. they take the fish, ground it up, mix it with vegetables or spices or something, and then shape it like a patty and cook it. Not a problem except when the waitress asked me how I wanted it cooked. What? I was under the impression fish was either cooked or not, so for the sake of wanting my fish cooked completely i said 'well'. Well done, for fish, naturally for Austin Grill meant dry. it was a very dry 'burger'. My boyfriend also got a drink- kinda weird choice I guess that's why they didn't understand- he wanted Vodka/Club soda/lime juice. They brought him what looked like a screwdriver with OJ and bitters. not the same thing. anyway, we don't recommend it and wouldn't go back there again.

Very disappointing for this native Texan looking for a taste of home. Food was absolutely terrible. Chips stale - salsa was obviously from a jar - worse than what you find in the grocery store. Server was inept (to put it nicely) and gave us attitude when we got tired of waiting to pay our bill. Oh - and did I mention we didn't even eat the dog food that was served to us? One bite of the jerky they passed off as brisket and I was ready to leave. The tacos? yeah - no bueno. And the thing they called a tamale that they tried to pass off to this Tex-Mex officianado was more like cat vomit wrapped in a dried up dough bag. Gross!!! NEVER AGAIN!

Food was amazing. If your into burgers you must try the hangover burger! Decor was OK layout was kind of strange and I felt like every other table is pointing at you if ur sitting in the front. The service how ever is god awful. Our server came after sitting for 10 Mins. Asked for drink order and immediately wanted to take our order. Which was OK I guess because we had decided already. After we received our food, we never saw her again until we asked for our check. She didn't check on us, I never received a second beer nor anyone a refill. We had to ask someone for her and when she brought us our bill she couldn't even return the credit card and receipt. She had someone else do it. My advice , sit at the bar!

The portions are reasonably large for the moderate prices, and relatively authentic, too. It's certainly several steps up from Taco Bell. It has that classic chain-restaurant vibe, so it's a good place to take your relatives who would be intimidated by real Mexican cuisine.
