How do you feel you're doing tracking marketing metrics in your business right now?

Is it a task you look forward to or one you try and avoid?

For a lot of my clients, metrics and analytics cause anxiety simply because they're unfamiliar. They don't know how to distill information from them quickly and easily to make informed decisions.

That's really the key to making metrics your friend. Discover what they're telling you about your business so you can save time and do more of what's working, and less of what isn't.

That sounds better already!

In today's blog post you'll learn:

+ the #1 metric I recommend tracking for your email marketing

+ why this metric should be higher on your priority list than traffic

+ why you shouldn't poor water into a leaky bucket or traffic into a leaky website

+ how to track this critical metric with step-by-step detailed instructions and screenshots

+ to take action on improving this metric with a done for you spreadsheet

For the longest time I struggled to give a straightforward answer to a question: "What systems should I work on first."  I'd always ask about the nature of that person's business, their business model, even personal strengths and preferences...

And that's certainly important!

But what I've found is that  all of that is not as important as the stage of that person's business.  Here is what I mean: http://bit.ly/1Equm4Y

The design process needs to move away from being about the designer’s ego and personal aesthetic preferences, and into creating real value and (measurable) results for clients.
