We have been SO busy here at PDL that we haven't had the time to post what we have been up to (We do run separate summer programs for Early Childhood AND elementary-age children in addition to our teen program with a staff of 1 full time, 2 part time people and an 8 hr/wk Teen Intern-without whom we would not have been able to pull ANY of this off!). We're hardly out in front of the main Maker Camp Schedule as a staff, but hope to remedy that over the next couple of weeks (We may have to extend beyond the "official" Maker Camp dates of July 8th-August 16th to meet our obligations!) We will be scheduling a "make-up" Learn to Solder workshop here very soon for kids who missed the "first round. That will have to wait until AFTER our Book Fair is gone!)
We are going to catch you up with what we have been doing up until now TODAY!
The first couple of weeks, we have had 4-6 teens attend our "Tinkering Tuesday" (We don't necessarily do what is on the Maker Camp schedule for any given Tuesday) and Field Trip Friday and you may take a look at our photos to see what we've been up to.
Three of our campers are off to Robotics or Graphic Arts Camp at Northern Michigan University this week and we sent our Arduino and Spinbot kits with them to see what they can learn about them. They will share what they have discovered when they return (And, if they are unable to get assistance at camp, then we'll have to figure it out on our own).
