We had a special visitor from KMBC Channel 9 news visit Hope Leadership Academy today. If all goes as planned, tune in tonight at 10pm to see our reading mentors and students representing Lead to Read KC!

Major Darren Ivey, from Kansas City Missouri Police Department, is one of more than 100 Lead to Read KC reading mentors who donate one lunch hour a week to read at Garfield Elementary. Thanks, Darren!

Thanks, KMBC, for highlighting the Lead to Read KC program at Hope Leadership Academy (HLA). Our team at HLA includes volunteers from HOK in Kansas City, Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City and many dedicated independent volunteers. HLA third grade reading scores improved 24 percentage points this year!
