I'm someone who cares about my family and close friends deeply. I was told by a very dear friend, thirty years ago, that I cared too much at times. Is that possible? I don't know. It just is. I tend to be an "extremist" and a "perfectionist" and, although these traits have certainly diminished as I've matured, they certainly help feed that trait in me to "care too deeply" as it was once put. I can live with that.

**"THE SHORT GAME"- The Esquire Network

I don't know if anyone has watched this program called "The Short Game" which airs on the Esquire Network but it is a window into the minds of parents trying to live their lives through their kids.

I want to say right from the start that even though I said that it's a window into the minds of parents who try to live their lives through their children's lives, it isn't over the top- in most of this shows parents. Yet, it does give you an idea of how mentally tough parents can be on their children under the guise of saying that they are only trying to make their children better. I've chosen this episode to show you what I mean.

The title for this episode is "Mental Lapse" and it's perfect considering just how ridiculous Bryce's father is with him. Bryce was having a hard time during the tournament they were playing in. He was hitting shots poorly and his putting was not very good. Remember, this is a child. I'm not sure just how old Bryce is but I would guess that he's about 10 years old. For a 10-year-old golfer, he's fantastic! Yet, when you watch this episode, you will hear his father say on many occasions, "You disappoint me"! He's very condescending throughout Bryce's rough time on the course and it isn't acceptable, as far as I'm concerned, for his father to use the excuse that he says those things because he wants to make his son a better golfer! Even if these utterances actually do make Bryce a better golfer (which they don't), his father has no idea just how damaging they are- long term! I know. I've been in Bryce's shoes only I was a baseball player whose father did these things to me and there were and are long term consequences because of them. All these condescending comments will, and in my case did, cause me to have low self-esteem issues which I struggled with for most of my life!

*Ryan Dawson on the War of Northern Aggression and the Stars & Bars*
(Right off the bat you know this is just some drivel by another Confederate sympathizer when the title refers to the Civil War as the War of Northern Aggression!-LOL)

I guess anyone can convince themselves of anything that they want to. If you REALLY want to believe that the Civil War was really caused by ANYTHING other than slavery, well... you can convince yourself of that! Why don't you read the Declaration of Causes of Secession http://www.ucs.louisiana.edu/~ras2777/amgov/secession.html of many of the main States which seceded?! That will help you understand how wrong you are. Mississippi, the wealthiest state in the whole Union, says in the first sentence of the second paragraph, "Our position is thoroughly identified with the institution of slavery"! EVERY OTHER Declaration has the words, "slavery" or "slave-holding" all throughout their "Declarations"! What really astounds me is this Ryan actually sounds like he has a brain, yet, he is so vested in trying to prove that the Civil War was about ANYTHING BUT SLAVERY! Guys like Ryan Dawson obviously have a financial interest in trying to convince people that the Civil War WASN'T about slavery. I just wonder how he says this drivel that he spouts with a straight face? I guess the money makes it possible. Mr. Dawson, you just can't get past the "Declarations of Causes of Secession". +Ryan Dawson

*THE CIVIL WAR TRUST-ANIMATED MAPS*

LOL- I feel like a little kid on his birthday! I just stumbled onto this site for the "Civil War Trust" and found that they have a fantastic animated map scheme!! The map that I've supplied the link below is for the "Battle of Chickamauga". Interspersed with the animated map are dramatic scenes which correspond with the narrative. I've always been a huge map fan but, at times, have found them hard to follow whether they are being used as supplements to a lecture or simply as an explanation in a book. But, this form, with the narration and the dramatic scenes is truly terrific and simple to follow.

Aside from this battle, there are 6 more animated maps to choose from. 5 are from the Civil War and 1 is from the Revolution. Of the 5 Civil War maps, there is an entire Civil War overview in animated form. I have yet to check these others out but I assume they are just as good as this Chickamauga map!

If you are a map aficionado or just a Civil War fan, this website is a fantastic find. Check it out and lety me know what you think.

*OMG!! SEN. TOM COTTON'S INTERN CALLS BRITISH "FAGGOTS" AND PAUL RYAN A "CUCK"*

This doesn't surprise me that an intern for this idiot (see picture below-Tom Cotton) would utter such insensitive, disparaging comments! It, also, doesn't surprise me that Cotton would hire someone such as this intern, Nate. It simply fits with his worldview and we are all worse off for it! Apparently, Nate (the intern) no longer works for Cotton (I simply can't honor Cotton with the designation of Senator). Yet, Cotton seemed to find it, initially, beneficial to hire this idiot (Nate) even though it is a well-known fact in the halls of Congress that Nate is a bigot.

Just listen to the audio at the end of the article- you will be sickened by this guy's disgusting rhetoric!

*UNTOLD FACTS OF THE CUSTER DEBACLE*

Just a few weeks ago Don Sender, retired Chief Warrant Officer, gave a lecture to the Civil War Round Table audience about "Custer's Last Stand" and debunked many of the myths which have surrounded this tragic event.

+Marc Kunis has a YouTube page (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCJdSqgTEAqqAjb-yCK-0huw) with many of the Civil War Round Table lectures posted. I have yet to watch one of these videos and been let down. They are all well done and full of information!
