I just don't get it.

The #fiftyshadesofgrey   hype.

But if you are into it - please share your thoughts.
I don't get it. The whole Fifty Shades of Grey hype. I just don't get it. Let me start at the beginning. I remember back to when the books first came out. Right on the tails of the Twilight series, I was intrigued by yet another love saga. (I am easily suckered into a good love story, ...

Don't believe the lies.

Sure, you can play Oregon Trail for free.

But Oregon Trail WILL PWN YOU.

I had a dream. That one day, I would take my covered wagon across the American frontier. In a covered wagon with modest provisions, I would brave the wild unknown and conquer the trail blazed by many settlers before me. I hoped against hope that amidst snake bites, river fordings, poor hunting ...

In which I share my favorite holiday recipe (made complete by Giant Food Stores Simply Enjoy ingredients)!
And I kind of love it. Mainly, I love sampling interesting appetizers, tasting delectable desserts and whipping up fun recipes I find on Pinterest. As we know, every recipe starts with one very important thing: quality ingredients. And despite what lies you may hear, not all ingredients are ...

I've got a roundup of great gadgets that make awesome stocking stuffers. Who wouldn't want a kindle in their stocking?!

Sure, we hang those stockings on our mantle so they'll look pretty and festive during the holidays. But, friends? Don't forget to FILL them! We usually opt for filling our stockings with every day items (think toothbrushes, hair ties, tissues, gum, etc) as well as sweet treats.

What messages are we giving our kids without realizing it?

Here is one thing I'll never let my daughters hear me say:

#Parenting   #moms   #MomOfGirls   #Daughters
There are so many messages thrown at us each day. Buy this! Avoid that! This is sexy! This is beauty! This is healthy! This is harmful! From the commercials we watch, the ads we drive past, the magazines we read. If we sit back and really take it in, we realize we are truly bombarded.

It's Winter. Those 3 months that make up my least favorite time of the year. One of the hardest things to about the winter is being trapped indoors because of the cold. No playing outside in the yard or swinging on swings when it's 15 degrees outside. For kids, all of this "stuck in the house" ...

Does anyone else struggle with the months of January through March?
When January begins, my anxiety sets in.
For as long as I can remember, January through March has been my least favorite time of year. As a kid, it was the bleak season of going back to school after the hype of holidays and standing in the frigid temperatures each morning at the bus stop. I guess I have various idiosynchrasies for ...

Awesome stocking stuffer ideas from CVS (hint - they're all #GoldEmblem products).

As we finish up our holiday shopping, it's easy to forget the finishing touches. Whether it's ingredients for Christmas Day brunch, wrapping paper for gifts or even a last minute present or two. We find ourselves frantically braving the mall on Christmas Eve, battling lines, and clawing out eyes ...

It takes a village. And while for many the holidays is a time of presents overflowing under a Christmas tree, there are many who can't scrape together a meal, a coat to wear or a roof to sleep under.

It is those people who need a little holiday magic - who need our love the most.

I am humbled to know the awesome bloggers and brands that paid-it-forward to bring 21 kids in Alaska a Christmas they'll never forget.

Thanks +Souffle Bombay for being the spark. A shoutout to +Lee Jeans  CVS, Nuby USA,  Tyrrells Chips USA, +Pretzel Crisps   +Educational Insights  +KIND Healthy Snacks  and +DecoArt Painter  DecoArt Inc. for your generosity.

Can you feel it? This time of year there seems to be a little extra magic in the air, people seem to smile more, have longer conversations with people they don't know, hold doors open and find ways to do more kind things for people. People they may know or they may not. Its the holidays!

8 years ago today, I woke up with a flutter of nervous excitement in my stomach. I was battling strep throat as I had my hair done and my makeup applied. Friendly conversation surrounded me amidst a flurry of movement and chaos as people scurried around the church placing items, ...

A pee a little every time I laugh or sneeze. I also have a dangerous relationship with ice cream.

One day when Steph leaves this world, she will be known for many things: Imperfect mother. English teacher's wife. Baking a wicked apple crisp. Shopping yet remaining unfashionable. Struggling to discern the line between reality and fantasy on TV shows. Passionately eating ice cream. Peeing a little every time she sneezes or laughs. Deep thoughts. Laughable housekeeping. Secretly crushing on MacGyver. And being a world-class blogger. Join her as she adventures through blogging, life, marriage, cooking, parenting and bringing sexy back, but not necessarily in that order. You can find her at Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Mom.

Stephanie loves community.  When she started blogging over 3 years ago, it was Steph's intent to reach out to any and every mother of the world, so they would know they were not alone on this journey called Motherhood. Since then, she has successfully (and somewhat humorously) redefined The Modern Day Donna Reed. Her blog has gained a faithful readership who explores parenthood, cooking, learning, growing, watching great TV shows and unabashedly loving the 90's.  The Confessions of a Stay-at-Home Mom blog has a lively and growing Facebook Page where there is a constant chatter.

Steph is passionate about things she loves, and is influential when sharing about something she believes in. She is the social media director/blogger for her local farmer's market, West Chester Growers Market, and is a regular contributor to thePhilly Burb Moms sites and MetroKids magazine, as well as the Philadelphia City Manager for SavvySource..  Steph is also an active member of Philly Social Media Moms.
