Six of the 2018-19 Dance Team Members (Sophie Driver, Maggie Nelson, Chaeli Moir, Rian Dau, Anna Bladt, and Kayla Miller) went to UDA Camp/Competition July 6th-9th in Omaha. Each Dancer learned and perfected 2 full-length dance routines in three days and was evaluated on the fourth day.

Two of the six that attended, Chaeli Moir and Rian Dau, also chose to complete an extra routine to compete for a place on the All-American Dance Team. BOTH were chosen out of over 100 individuals, and have the opportunity to go to Rome, Italy and perform with the All American Team over New Years.

Out of the 14 teams that were involved with the weekend camp, the Tri-Center Dancers were awarded a Superior Trophy for their overall team score. Along with choreography, the dancers and their coach were also able to meet the requirements for Squad Credentialing, which included fulfilling the course developed in conjunction with the National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS). The course focused on leadership training, safety awareness, proper technique, and progressions, as well as specialized training in the five traditional roles of a Spirit Leader - Ambassador, Athlete, Performer, Role Model, and Spirit Raiser. Coach Linnea Handbury also received a Superior Coaches Award which was voted on by both UDA Staff and the other Coaches in attendance.

Please join in congratulating these young ladies on their outstanding performances and representation of the Tri-Center Dance Team and their community! http://ow.ly/i/GQJ3F
