Did you know mixed breed dogs tend to be healthier, better behaved, they live longer and are just as able to perform the duties of pure bred dogs - such as bomb and drug sniffing, search and rescue and guiding the blind.
Visit the shelter today to adopt a "mutt!"

Water is the most important nutrient you can provide for your pets. Be mindful of the summer temperatures and bring them inside at least during the hottest hours of the day. A few signs to look for are excessive panting, drooling, a bright red tongue, and weakness.
If you suspect your pet has heat exhaustion, please do not wait to seek treatment.

4th of July celebrations are already started in the Middle TN area. Here are some great tips for keeping your pets safe and fear-free during the holidays:

-Place up to date identification tags on your dogs, cats, and horses.
-Place them in an escape-proof room during times of fireworks or when you are away from the house.
-Keep pets away from the grill during cooking.
-Inspect your yard after shooting fireworks for any debris that your pet can eat.
-Consider microchipping your pets, and if they are chipped, check to make sure your information is current.
-Consider a light sedative just for a few hours to really calm your fearful buddy.

Call us for more information if you think your pet would benefit from a light sedative and/or microchipping during this holiday season.
