My friend and teacher Guy Windsor is building the historical combat system of Fiore dei Liberi into a card game. Check it out.

Maybe this will ease my bloodlust for sword combat until Clang is greenlighted.

I liked the Big Tower project you presented. But have you considered the Space Cable (John Knapman's upgrade on the Lofstrom Loop)?

Most airports have placards and signs above the security line exhorting you to take out your laptops, fluids, etc. so that you can get through the line faster. At DSM, the same content is couched as "here are some things you can do to prevent holding up the line/slowing down other people."

Welcome to the Midwest.

Ghandi said we have a moral obligation to obey just laws, and a moral obligation to disobey unjust laws. I think what one is conforming to is more interesting than whether one happens to be conforming to something.

It seems just a bit odd that Apple, with all its wealth and technological genius, cannot make a mail app that can consistently send outgoing mail using Apple's own (me.com) mail service. If that statement seems too bizarre to be real, just Google something like "apple mail can't send" and see what comes up.

Please don't respond to this with suggestions on how to fix it, since the apple tech support forums are full of folk wisdom on this topic, and none of it seems to work.

On my machine, Mail will happily send outgoing email on other services such as well.com and google mail. The only system it doesn't work with is Apple's own.

Until recently this only happened when I was away from home, and so I'd use webmail on me.com as a workaround. But now it seems to be perma-broken, so I'm reduced to using webmail all the time for me.com/mac.com.

I totally have that shirt. Dry wick for hiking, bought at rei. It always feels cold and slick when I put it on. Like grey shark skin. Wish I had ten. Must be made of new matter.

Exactly seven days remaining in the CLANG kickstarter campaign. About 3/4 of the way through we have reached the 3/4 funding mark, which sounds good as far as it goes...but we need to keep the momentum going. This campaign launched with such a bang that I suspect many who heard of it in the early days have been assuming we long since blew through our goal and became one of those overfunded Kickstarters that we always hear about. But that's not the case...yet. So if you or someone you know is interested in seeing something fundamentally new happen in the world of video games that incorporate sword fighting mechanics, check out our site and the FAQs and updates we've been posting as our donor community has taken shape.
