Jeff's Brush Comping  I am going to assume that if you are reading this blog you are already familiar with Jeff's incredible brush technique, as well as the video on the right where he describes his approach to brushes (and takes one of the best solos on a ballad that I have ever heard).  If you haven't yet had a chance to check out this video, I can summarize Jeff's approach as follows: * Strike the drum laterally instead of ve...

Philly Joe Jones Melodic Drumming isn't new Melodic drumming is not a new or avant-garde technique. Especially in the jazz tradition, drummers have been directly or indirectly referencing melodies for almost as long as the instrument has been around. Because the drum set is not considered a pitched instrument, many people (certainly including other drummers) don't hear the connection between what a drummer is playing and the me...

This service has scam written all over it, and I'm glad I read these reviews before signing up! At first they called me and made it sound like my google business hadn't been verified (which it had), so I assumed that the call was somehow connected to google directly. I think that they are deliberately vague about their relationship to google to confuse business owners, and once I realized that I was receiving an unsolicited phone call/sales pitch I got very suspicious. I quickly googled the company and realized who I was talking to, and immediately declined the service. Once they realized that I was not interested they starting using really unpleasant hard-sell tactics like saying that "my spot wouldn't be available if I didn't take action now" because my "industry was trending". As a rule, any time you are getting pressured on an unsolicited phone call by any business, it's time to end the conversation. Please just do some research before you waste any time or energy dealing with this company.
