What's on your plate? One of the concepts with Ignite is understanding based on your personal genes what your ideal plate balance is for meal composition. This means that the exact plate for each of us is slightly different, but I do see one version that many of us share in common. Here's a quick image of what that looks like! It's half the plate as non-starchy vegetables, one-quarter as protein, and the remaining quarter shared between carbohydrate-rich foods and fat-rich foods. An example: a large fillet of salmon (protein) with a small handful of roast sweet potato (carbohydrate), and 3 large handfuls steamed broccoli (non-starchy vegetable) with garlic, all drizzled with several big glugs of olive oil and topped with sesame seeds (fats). Amazing new original recipe just posted! A dried fruit and nut bar with only 3 dates in the entire recipe. That's just 3g of sugar per bar. Most of the bars out there are 50% dates! Get rid of them!
