Super-stoked to talk to some Google guys today about Google Play for Education! Right off the bat, it seemingly addresses EVERY complaint I've had for the past TWO YEARS about managing tablets in a school environment. This stuff is going to absolutely destroy Apple in the .edu sector, in price, functionality, and versatility.

Terrific app, very powerful!  After fruitlessly searching the app store for a clock widget that felt "just right", I decided to give Zooper a shot, and created my own clock that had all the info I wanted in the dimensions I wanted.

I find this calendar the most aesthetically pleasing of the ones I've tried -- Most importantly, it has a month view with event text (instead of the Google Calendar colored-block style), plus it has nice customizable color & transparency options.

Dear Google, I wish your Android Gmail client allowed me to turn off conversation view. I mean, I'm using it anyway, but conversation view blows.

So the weekend was pretty great! Today ought to be all right, too, I need to remember to stop at the business office of the radio station I won a $25 gift certificate from on Friday. Mmmm, free burritos....

Someone just asked me if I had a spare NIC because whatever she has in her PC has stopped working. I told her it was her lucky day, I have a pair of vintage 3COM 3c905c PCI cards that she can try out if she'd like. I went on to explain that they were quite popular and well regarded in the early 90's to mid 2000's, before everything had integrated NICs... Then as an afterthought, added, "Truly, they are the David Duchovny of ethernet cards."

Her reply was "Hrmmm... I wonder if I'm better off buying a new one."

I'm sorry, David Duchovny. :/
