Very nice!

#PoseOfTheWeek  : Bird of Paradise- Svarga Dvijasana

Benefits

This advanced standing posture has many benefits:

-Strengthens the hips, pelvis, and quadriceps.
-Lengthens the hamstrings and calves.
-Tones the legs.
-Opens the shoulders.
-Challenges your balance.

Cautions

-This is intense on the pelvis, hips, and hamstrings. Avoid if you have any current or recent injuries in those areas.
-Keep the muscles of your legs and shoulders engaged at all times to avoid injury.

Steps

-Begin in warrior two with your right foot forward. Place your right forearm on your right thigh and sweep your left arm above your head. -Hold this extended side angle.
-Sweep your left hand behind your back to the outside of your right thigh. Feed your right hand beneath the inside of your right thigh. ----------Clasp both hands in a bind.
-Step forward with your left foot to meet your right in a bound variation of chair. Look down to the ground as shift your weight onto your left foot. Extend through your left leg, lift your bent right leg off the ground, and come into standing.
-In standing, shift your hips and shoulders to a comfortable position. ---Extend through your right leg to come into the full posture.

Modifications

-Keep your floating leg bent for a less intense variation.
