Pole Position Raceway offers several racing formats as well as options for group parties and events.

Arrive & Drive – This option allows customers to show up individually or in small groups and race in standard races. These races last approximately 10 minutes with drivers separated into three categories based on driver height/age (min 48”, 6+ years old) and maximum speed of the kart.

Party Packages – With multiple party packages, Pole Position Raceway has become one of most enviable places to have a birthday party in St. Louis…and not just for kids.  We offer three group racing formats designed for company parties, team building events, bachelor parties and groups who want completely private racing.  Racing packages provide private racing and reserved time slots.

Corporate Events & Facility Rentals – Pole Position Raceway is the ideal event venue for those in search of unique places to rent for parties or fun corporate event ideas in St. Louis.   Combine the thrill of high-speed go-kart racing with the use of our 56,000 square foot facility.  It truly is the most unique event space in St. Louis.

Special Events – For real karting enthusiasts, we host special monthly events like Ironman Races, Team Endurance Races, Youth Racing Camps and Driving Clinics that are open to the public.   Plus we have many educational programs like our S.T.E.M. program for Scouts and our Academy of Racing Sciences for middle school students.

Conveniently located just 15 minutes from Clayton, MO and downtown St. Louis, Pole Position Raceway is the perfect destination for your next party or event!

"Well worth the price of a race and an even better value with a membership."

Wow. Worst experience I've ever had with a business and the worse go kart racing I've ever had and I've been on dozens of tracks. First, everyone that raced had wrists that hurt after just one race, probably due to having to turn the wheel so much because of all the sharp U turns, and my girlfriend is still complaining about shoulder pain days after racing on the gokarts and she never complains about anything. Second, the cars vary greatly, some have decent tires but others have so little traction that you'll hit the wall on almost every turn. They also require wearing a full helmet with face mask which becomes very hot when racing indoors and seems pointless, even professional race car drivers don't wear full face masks. And on top of that you overcharged my credit card by more than $50, almost $150 for 4 races. I see their recent reviews are all bad and their old reviews are good, maybe they changed the track or have different cars now, all I know is they appear to be a lot worse than they use to be.

My name is Mike Johnson and I am the owner of Pole Position Raceway. First I would like to point out that at the time of this post, Mr. Hassinger had 116 Yelp Reviews of which 48 were 1 Star. In two years of being open, and racing at high performance kart tracks all over the country, I have never once heard the complaint that someone's wrists hurt from the hairpin turns. Every high performance indoor karting center has hairpin turns. All of our karts are measured by lap times once a week and stay within a .5 second variance. It's the only way we can maintain credibility in the racing crowds. I don't even know how to comment about there being so little traction that you'll hit the wall on almost every turn. Yes, on the out lap, when the tires are cold, they will push for about a half a lap, but again, very common for high performance karts. As for the helmet comment, I'll just leave it at, EVERY SINGLE PROFESSIONAL RACE CAR DIRVER IN THE WORLD WEARS A FUL FACE HELMET. EVERY. SINGLE. ONE. As someone that has won at Daytona, Sebring, Watkins Glen, Laguna Seca, Indianapolis, Le Mans, etc. I would know. As for the overcharging of the card, if this is the case, and it may be, please bring in your receipt and we'll gladly refund you the money, but I think it would be more appropriate to handle this on the counter than on social media. Like any business open to the public, we get good and bad reviews and monitor them constantly. Our current overall rating over Google +, Facebook, Trip Advisor and Yelp in 4.5 out of 5, and we have a 98% Happy rate on Groupon. I am sorry if Mr. Hassinger did not have the experience he expected when he visited us, but I think stating the facts is important.

Terrible Experience! Avoid! Avoid! After waiting over an hour while watching multiple groups check-in after us and race before us I inquired what the issues is. I am not talking 1 or 2 groups I am talking more than 5. They had no good answer for the reason. Then to add insult to injury they stated it would be another 20 minutes before we would be able to race. We did not have the time to wait and race as we had other commitments so we need to leave- We asked for refund, they refused- I spoke to manager he made no attempt to remedy the situation and smugly stated they do not provide refunds- We never received any services yet they still refused to refund our money.

Response from the owner - 8 months ago
This is Mike Johnson, Owner of Pole Position Raceway St. Louis. On December 27th, Mr. Murphy sent me a private e-mail stating he had a bad experience at our track. After reading the e-mail, I replied to Mr. Murphy asking for more information concerning the date and time of the experience, the number of people in his party, etc. so that I could look deeper into the complaint and figure out what happened to ensure these negative experiences don't happen again. It has been 3 days and Mr. Murphy has not replied to me, but has chosen to report his experience on social media which of course is his fair option. Without having more information from Mr. Murphy, all I can do is state the following. The Friday of his visit, was the single busiest day in our history which is no excuse but errors are sometimes made in scheduling and communication to our guests. Mr. Murphy was told there was going to be around an hour wait since there were so many adult races already booked and his group wanted a junior race. As expected on busy days, races do not go as smoothly as slower days since the races have more drivers, more inexperienced drivers and therefore many more accidents and delays. When Mr. Murphy approached the Manager, he was told that we were behind and that the wait would be longer, but his group did not ever gain or lose their place in line. Many groups did come in during his wait as he states, but they were put into adult races since that was the level they wanted to race. We have 3 levels of racing and we book the races first come first served then fill the races as more people or small groups walk in to get to our maximum of 12 per race. When Mr. Murphy asked for a refund, he was informed of our no refund policy since we had to push other people back that would have liked to race during his scheduled time. During the conversation with our manager, our manager offered Mr. Murphy another complete set of races to add to the races he already purchased. Mr. Murphy was also informed that the races he purchased have not gone away and Mr. Murphy currently still holds 2 race credits to his name that can be used anytime. As for the rest of his party, their races credits should be in the system as well. In this situation, a refund was not offered, since the wait time we told Mr. Murphy based on the number of races booked before his was accurate and he chose to leave before his scheduled race began. The races credits were not used and the races Mr. Murphy purchased are still available for his use anytime. Without talking to Mr. Murphy to try to explain or remedy the situation, and without getting all the information concerning the incident from Mr. Murphy, all I can do now is apologize that our staff didn't properly explain to him how and why groups walked in and raced before him. That is something we need to do a better job of explaining as we recently changed and updated our formats based on consumer feedback. Hopefully Mr. Murphy will return to Pole Position Raceway to redeem his credits and enjoy the fastest karts in St. Louis.

You need to time your visit. Don't go during obvious busy times. CHECK THEIR WEBSITE CALENDAR. There are a lot of private reservations rent the whole place out. so you really need to check the calendar in advance. This track is low capacity, but the karts and course are excellent. So just, figure out when the low traffic times are and go during those times. I had 0 wait today and plenty of personal instruction. It was super fun. We all just loved the experience. Some highlights: · Entry experience iPads to register and choose driver name. Easy to quickly enter well laid out information. Duration approx. 2 minutes. · Introductory video to offer instruction, explain experience, do’s and don’ts. Easy to follow and helped regulate safety and expectation. Explained flag colors used by referees. Duration of video approx. 3 minutes. · Operational attendant to instruct on racing principles and race strategy. Discussed braking/acceleration, managing turns & passing. Also explained how electric motors perform differently from gas powered karts. · Balaclava distributed and warn under helmet eased helmet sanitation concerns while enhancing experience and making for a fun photo op. · Choosing and wearing helmet seemed to legitimize rigor of racing experience and helped build anticipation · Driving experience felt like F1 racing with sharp turns and long straight-aways. The quickness of the electric karts and stability on the course gave the sensation of professional race vehicles. Passing was difficult and demanded strategy (just as with F1 racing). The activity was physically rigorous. · Our race results were projected on an LCD screen afterwards followed by a customized print out of our individual results. (we were assigned numbered karts at the beginning) · Makes you want to do it again. Capacity/timings · 12 single-seater karts/race · Track length: ¼ mile · 11 laps · Racing duration approx. 10 minutes · Prep approximately 5 minutes (est. 15 minute turn)

So much fun! If you are looking for something different to do in St. Louis, check out Pole Position. Staff was great and the experience is one of a kind! They even have video games to keep kids entertained and a nice meeting room in the back, perfect for parties. I would definitely recommend.

Awesome experience! Absolutely loved it. The staff was friendly and helpful at all times, and there was even an experienced rider there who gave tips to a few of us. Don't listen to the naysayers, if you're looking for a fast, fun, karting experience. This is the place to go! And yes, as has been mentioned in one or two other reviews.... this will make your arms sore if you're not used to it *chuckles*
