Seriously, why do I need to ask this? You shouldn't belittle them, and you should never, ever, discriminate against anyone. As someone who has attempted suicide, has MDD, and has severe anxiety issues, it angers me like nothing else.
To Christians, Jews, and Muslims, if someone commits, or even just attempts to commit, suicide, they are not simply trying to "play god." They have legitimate problems, and your response is immature and rude. It indicates naïveté, and demonstrates that you believe that your religion promotes intolerance. Enough of it.
To anyone else who simply thinks it's selfish, please, explain to me how wanting to end all of your suffering is selfish. Please tell me how being harassed, abused, and bullied to the point of wishing for death is selfish. How is it my personal selfishness, when others push me to the brink of suicide? Please, learn to tell the difference between selfish goals and extreme suffering. It's truly the worst form of intolerance.
And to those of you who have attempted, or who have given serious thought to attempting suicide, please read this and know that I have, too. I'm here, and I'm here for you. And not one of those people who makes you hate yourself is worth a damn thing.
