I highly recommend the Tiramisu!! IT'S AMAZING!!! Perfect balance of everything. The best Tiramisu I've ever had!!! I also tried the Strawberry Cream Cake. It wasvery sweet, and I couldn't handle the flavor of the brandied vanilla custard for long (too alcoholic for my taste). I don't think I'll get it again... I've had other cakes here, but I don't remember... because the Tiramisu is just awesome.

I came here again with my girlfriend during Valentine's. We got the Tunnel of Love passion fruit cake, Fatima's Thighs, and their special tea of the day Tunnel of Love: sooo good. The passion fruit was delicious, and the whipped cream and cake were really good. I wished there was a bit more passion fruit. Fatima's Thigh: okay, not really my cup of tea (pardon the pun). It's basically a baked cookie with fig and nuts inside. It was good, but I'm more of a cake than cookie person. Tea: I don't remember what tea it was, but I think it was some kind of black tea. With a little bit of milk, it was really good, and it went beautifully with the desserts we had. I asked for some water to wash down everything after, and she gave me a weird look and handed me two cups of hot water. It wasn't until after that I realized the iced water on the side of the wall.

One of the best bakeries in the entire Bay Area. (Believe me, I've dedicated my life to trying as many pastry shops as possible.) Everything is baked fresh on premise. You will never find the cloyingly sweet items so common at most pastry emporiums. Go early to get access to full menu of the day. My faves: The Pave -- an incredibly light and thoroughly chocolate dream; Walnut Slice -- walnuts, sultans (golden raisins) perfectly spiced and sweetened wrapped in a flakey, butter pastry - YUM. Going for something a little heavier? The New Orleans Bourbon Cake -- chocolate + bourbon. You have to show your ID to order this one. It is hard to limit yourself to just one item. ENJOY.

Strong coffee, amazing sweets, a truly incredible ginger cake, and lovely pies. Pricey.

World-class pastries and cakes. Takes me back to my childhood, what a pleasure. Thank you so much. And fantastic coffee, too.

It is a very small, counter-service café. There's not a ton of seating inside and the outdoor seating is not an ideal people-watching venue. Fortunately for me, I don't care about all that. I go to Crixa because I want cake. I want perfect, beautiful pastries and cakes. I want every bite to feel like its weight is just right. I want to enjoy the simple, freshly made whipped cream. I want everything I order, and everything my friends order to be really delightful. And the prices are extremely fair considering the ambience and the quality of the food.

Hands down, this is the best dessert spot in Berkeley. Crixa does not serve the cute little macarons that you will find at Masse's, but they have so much more to offer. The apple and almaretto cakes are near and dear to my heart, but you really can't go wrong. These cakes aren't overwhelming sweet which makes everyone a fan. The one big flaw is the addictive quality that just makes it impossible to put down the fork...

Amazing cakes! I have been super lucky to have a friend who will bring me the most fantastic birthday cakes from Crixa ever. This year, it was the flourless chocolate cake. It is absolutely melts-in-your-mouth delicious. Just a bit of the chocolate's richness, while being flourless and maintaining its light delightfulness! A piece of chocolate heaven.
