Have you ever rented a car for a long-distance trip only to find out that your rental car model has been recalled for a particular defect and the defect had started acting up on your trip? It can put anyone into a nervous frenzy - placing you and your passengers' safety at risk. Effective June 1, 2016, a new Federal law goes into effect. Rental car agencies must now fix any and all open safety defects before renting out vehicles to customers. #carrecall

Remember when consumers found out that Volkswagon had installed secret software on its TDI Clean Diesel engines that were rigged to cheat US emissions regulations? Now they are finding out it's a problem to too difficult to fix. Upon the "dirty diesel" scandal, a judge has ordered VW to buy a consumer's car back. Now Volkswagon is appealing the court decision. #consumerprotection

Junk debt buyers file credit card lawsuits by the thousands and more often than not, lack sufficient documentation to support the lawsuit against the consumer. What exactly is a junk debt buyer? If you are being sued by a debt collector, chances are, they are on this list. #debtcollection

Impermissible robocalls by debt collectors to consumers violate the ‪‎TCPA‬ (Telephone Consumer Protection Act) which provides protection against robocalls, automated messages and automatic-dialed calls. With a majority of the consumer population relying on cellphones, these illegal robocalls are becoming more prevalent. #debtcollection

How safe are the tires on your vehicle? While the manufacturer will attempt to contact all consumers with tires that have been recalled, between third-party sales and consumers who don't fill out tire warranty cards, it's pretty much a guarantee that not every consumer, and even most consumers, will be notified by the tire company of that recall. #tirerecall
