So I just noticed something interesting on the official Pebble page. The tagline for the site used to be "Awesome smartwatch. No compromises." Now, it's just "Awesome watch. No compromises."

It makes sense when you think about it, now that the "smartwatch" has entered into the mass market. No one really says "smartphones" anymore, we just call them "phones". As smartwatches become more widespread and integrated with people's everyday life, they will just be "watches", rather than techy gizmos that need to be distinguished by the prefix "smart".

That's a pretty huge loss.

Does anyone know of any Pebble app that will allow me to turn on the screen on my Android phone using the Pebble? (Instead of using the power button)

A bit of background info: My Nexus 5 seems to have developed a problem where the power button will think it is being held down randomly, causing the phone to switch on and off without my input. This seems to be a hardware problem since it happens even with the phone off. The problem is intermittent and the phone is working fine most of the time, but the problem seems to be randomly triggered if I press the power button.

So now I've put the wakelock on on my phone so the screen stays on all the time, basically trying to keep off the power button as much as possible while I figure out the next steps. This isn't very practical though for when I'm on the move, so I'm wondering if there is any way I can replicate the function of the power button to turn on the screen using a Pebble app.

Thanks in advance for any suggestions!

Pictures of the Black Matte as promised! First impression-wise, not much to say that other Steel users haven't already said; the buttons are super nice and very tactile, and the problem with the mura effect seems to have been completely eliminated.

The leather strap is a wee bit too big for my tiny wrist and it would have been nice if they could have punched an extra hole or two.

Anyway, I don't think the press photos do the watch any justice. The black looks extremely nice in real life and not bland at all. I have to admit I have had moments of weakness where I felt that I should have got the Brushed Steel instead, but those doubts have been completely eliminated seeing the watch in real life.

Haven't seen any pictures for this on this community yet so here's my Black Matte! Arrived just earlier and my mom picked it up. Might take some proper pics later today but here's a preview I guess. :p
