I don't feel for the over $300+/night price this hotel was a good value. They offer things like free use of kayaks and bikes which was a nice bonus, but the hotel needs to repair-refurbish the oceanside pool and sitting areas. The posts were broken or weak and you could fall over the side very easily. The deck chairs need to have the cushions removed at night because they are usually very wet from being left out all the time. Much of the flowers were dead or dying around our building (Evergreen). Little things that need attention that would make this a first class (worth 300+ plus dollars a night) There is also a marshy pond in front of Evergreen that needs sprucing up and the mosquitos were big and nasty at night. The town is typical Maine coastal and is fairly close to the resort. If you want to swim in the ocean we swam off the dock where the kayaks are, but there is no beach area close by for the kids or dog like in other areas. They have a nice breakfast buffet which you pay for. The muffins they give with coffee for free are usually gone by 7:30-8:00am, so you have to get there when they put them out at 6 if you want a fresh muffin. Oh and one more thing...especially if management reads this. Tell your staff to say "thank-you" when guests leave.
