Boating on the Potomac has been one adventure after another for my family. Each time we go
out on the water it is something new to see. Even the surrounding landscape changes from
Spring to Fall in such beautiful ways. Seeing Virginia from the River, is a unique perspective
of complete Calm and Serenity in the midst of a very busy Northern Virginia. It really is like
a mini vacation away from reality, stress, traffic, and work. My family and I have boated on
days where the water was smooth as glass and the reflection off the river was breathtaking, to
braving the stormy weather on the Potomac and out running approaching storms in our boat.
I love it when we have spent a day out either tubing and water skiing with the kids, or exploring
one of the many parks up and down the river, Leesylvania, Mason Neck, Pohick Bay,
Smallwood, Mattawoman, the list is endless, then zooming over to Tim’s Rivershore Restaurant
at either Fairview Beach or Dumfries for great food, and on many occasion a live band on the
water.
And when the sun goes down... watching the sunset turn bright crimson as it sinks into the
landscape, is like peace on earth, and everything is suddenly right with the world.
We have wonderful memories on the 4th of July, anchoring down with the many boaters, who
will keep you endlessly entertained until the fireworks.
When you watch the fireworks in DC by Land, after having to fight traffic or metro, only to have
the realization you somehow have to make it back home through the mobs when it is over, turns
the fun into sheer exhaustion. But when you cruise down the river on your boat, anchor down
amongst the many happy boaters, turn on some music till the fireworks start, have your picnic
on the boat, and watch the Fireworks go off right in front of you in all it’s majestic glory, it’s awe
inspiring and makes you very grateful to be an American, and a Boater.
Some other things we have enjoyed is our New and ever growing, National Harbor. On
many occasions we have docked the boat, and enjoyed dinner at one of the many wonderful
Restaurants to chose from, walked the river walk, and toured the Gaylord. The Gaylord Hotel is
also wonderful to see at Christmas time. Their light show is spectacular. The kids love it.
Another fun event on the River, is watching Santa Ski across the river at Christmas with his
posse of Elves and Reindeer, even the Grinch gets involved. I watched on the news when I
was young about this event, but thanks to Carlton and Debbie Phillips of Prince William Marina,
Jeff’s and my kids, got to experience this fun event up close by boat. I have the best pictures of
our kids watching Santa and crew ski past us doing funny skits
I have to say, boating just about anywhere can be a wonderful time. I boated on Lake Anna
with my family before I fell in love with the River. The first introduction to River Boating was with
my friend Carolyn on her boat, and a few girlfriends, out for a girls day on the River. We knew
nothing about the river at the time, and no one had given us any instructions at all. We had only
boated on Lake Anna up till then. Oblivious to danger, we tried to get the boat down the ramp,
and into the water, at Willow Landing Marina at Low Tide, (Very Low Tide). We backed the boat
down the ramp, the ramp ran out, and the truck tires were at the end of the ramp. The boat
wasn’t anywhere NEAR the water. Hmmm, What to do? What to do? I don’t remember who
came up with the bright idea, of backing the truck and boat trailer down the ramp at high speed,
and then slamming on the brakes to see if the boat would fly off into the water, but somehow we
all agreed that this could work. What happened next, could have gone down in history on UTube
and Funniest Home Videos as the most amazing, gravity defying feat, had we taped it.
As Carolyn back her truck rapidly down the ramp and then slammed on her breaks, two things
happened simultaneously. First the back two tires blew a flat from slamming the brakes on
such a rough surface, and secondly, the boat trailer jack knifed and flung the boat sideways
up on the ramp wall, and left the boat not only, “NOT in the water”, but teetering on the edge
of the wall above the ramp. One would think that the boat would have been badly damaged,
however, the boat was left with only a large scratch down the bottom and side. The marina
owner graciously helped us lift the boat off the wall and into the water with a fork lift, and also
changed the truck tires for us while we were out boating. He did ask us, with a worried look on
his face, what time we were coming back, so he could keep a look out for us in case we got into
trouble again. Thankfully the man had a good sense of humor. We went to Tim’s Rivershore
Restaurant in Fairview Beach and we got back to the marina late that night. We had a blast!
Somehow, by the Grace of God, we didn’t need a helicopter rescue at Sea, and we made it
home safely with boat in tow.
There is nothing like the Potomac River with it’s endless adventures, and great stories to tell.
I knew, years ago, when Jeff told me he wanted to work at Prince William Marina on the
River and leave Lake Anna, that it would be a wonderful opportunity. Little did we realize the
wonderful memories we would make with our family, and the extended family we would gain
with the Marina staff and Boaters, by working at Prince William Marine. As soon as I met
Carlton and Debbie Phillips, I knew we had found our home. The marina has not only given Jeff
a wonderful career that he loves, but a wonderful family environment full of fun happy boaters,
and magical, memory filled events, only Disney could rival.
Jeff and I and our 7 kids, have enjoyed countless firework displays at Prince William Marina,
Parties on the River and at Prince William Marina, for every occasion, Aquapalooza, Poker
Run on the River with a treasure map, taking us to see Santa Ski on the River, Boat Lighting
at Christmas, The Wounded Warriors boating trips, and countless other activities every month.
Most impressively, the owners of the Marina, Carlton and Debbie Phillips are always at every
event to greet you, assist you, and enjoy the fun with you. They have a passion for making
people happy, and they love what they do. I think you could look far and wide and never find
another marina that offers so much and leaves you feeling so good you can’t wait to go back.
In just eight short years, Jeff and I have a lifetime of memories and pictures of us boating with
our friends and family and the fun events at Prince William Marina.

LICENSED REALTOR IN VIRGINIA / RESIDENTIAL APPRAISAL EXPERIENCE

 MY PROMISE TO YOU.......

  • I PAY FOR YOUR HOME WARRANTY UP TO $450.00 IN VALUE FOR YOUR HOME SALE OR PURCHASE.
  • I LOWER MY COMMISSION IF I DON'T SELL YOUR HOME IN 30 DAYS.

SEE WHAT MY CLIENTS ARE SAYING ABOUT ME!...

"Liz can work wonders. Her knowledge and strong work ethic can turn any situation in your favor. She has two primary magic powers: 1) the ability to be in more than one place at once, and 2) the ability to predict the future. It was an absolute pleasure working with a professional of such high caliber." -Manny

“Liz, you're the best! In the past I've dealt with other agents from major real estate company's and I could always tell they were just looking to make the highest commission possible from me. Liz's approach was so genuine and personable that at times one would think she was working to sell her own home, and not a stranger she'd just met. My house had been on the market for several months under one of those "big name" companies (I won't mention which one). Six months and barely got a viewing. And there were no offers at all. Then I met Liz. Before she even looked at the house she told me her goal is to have my house under contract within thirty days. I must admit, given the state of the market and my experience with the first company, I figured she was just blowing me sunshine to get my business. But damned if she didn't come through. Within a couple of weeks I had multiple viewings. And if I recall correctly, on day 29 we had a contract. Liz came into this with such tenacity she could have sold ice cubes to a snowman. I knew there was no doubt I wanted her to help me find my next home. She approached the purchase aspect with the same drive and tenacity I experienced before. I told her what I was looking for in a house and she never stopped looking for me. Even after I found the house I wanted, she never stopped looking for other homes for me, just in case something better came along. While Liz came through for me in both the selling of my old house and the purchase of the home my wife and I now live in, the thing I admire most about Liz is her work ethic. She was honest and upfront throughout the entire process. I grew to trust her judgement. She's a tenacious individual who gets the job done, and I would recommend her to anyone in the market to buy or sell their home.” ~ Guy Calhoun

“Liz is an excellent real estate professional. Not only did she assist me in finding the exact type of property I was looking for, where I wanted it but she also was extremely patient and helpful in providing all the help needed in closing the deal.” Top qualities: Great Results, Expert, High Integrity - Manuel Ojeda ~ hired Liz more than once

“Liz is a highly skilled professional who can give you great insight into a very confusing market. She is totally dependable, and a pleasure to work with. If you want the very best, then Liz should be your choice.” Top qualities: Personable, Expert, Integrity ~ Joseph White

“I would highly recommend Liz as a real estate agent. We quickly needed to help our daughter find a place for herself and two children not to mention the two horses. We had used others, but no one put as much effort into helping us like Liz. She was excellent. She cared about our situation and understood it and provided excellent advice and guidance. It is not often you find someone who is there to help you, and not out for herself, but Liz is that person. If you get a chance to work with Liz - DO IT. You won't be sorry.”
Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, High Integrity ~ Debbie Christie

“I have worked with several realtors over the years and Liz is hands down one of the absolute best. Liz's amazing blend of knowledge and integrity is a rare find in todays fast pace sales world. I could not think of a better customer advocate than Liz Rogers.” Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, High Integrity ~ Robbie Brown

“In ALL of her endeavors, Real Estate, Appraiser and Hair, Liz is amazing. As a real estate professional she is conscientious and hardworking. She always has your best interest above all else. Top qualities: Great Results, Personable, Expert ~ Wendy Maurer

"Liz is the hardest working agent I have ever know! When I was short selling my house last year I fired 4 other agents before Liz. Once I found Liz she had more people view the house in 3 weeks than the other agents did in 9 months. My house was sold to a great couple in a very short time. I could not have done it without Liz. Thank you so much!!!!"  ~ Kelly Copley

“I have known liz for some time now. Liz is a professional real estate consultant along with being a licensed appraiser in the state of Virginia. The integrity honesty and trust that Liz provides to her clients is why people come back to Liz for advice Her professional and no beating around the bush answers assures her clients that she is good at what she does. As a friend Liz is always there to listen. If what you are looking for in an agent, friend, or even hair stylist go no further you have found what you are looking for!” ~Barbara Jennings, Realtor, Keller Williams Realty - worked with Liz

“We have been renting from Liz since August of 2010, and the experience has been absolutely fantastic. She provides the perfect mix of professionalism and friendliness, and I would highly recommend her.” Top qualities: Personable, Expert, High Integrity ~ David Purcell

“Liz, I don’t know how you did it, but you Sold my house for $20K ABOVE the highest selling house in my neighborhood in a year, and you had contracts coming in on my home within 2 weeks. Then you turned around and used a strategy that at first I was skeptical about, to help us Buy our next home for $40K LESS than asking price, on a home with a Bidding War. Your Appraisal knowledge is obviously a benefit to you in your ability to help a Buyer or Seller come out ahead in this market. You made me a believer.” Top qualities: Expert ~ K.L.

“Liz, We didn’t use you the first time we bought a home, against the recommendation of a friend who highly recommended you, and we regretted our decision to not use you after we bought our home straight from the Builder. A few years later we remembered you, found you on FaceBook, and asked you to help us sell our home. We are very happy we did. You sold our home $25,000. higher than any home sold in our development ever sold, while the Builder was still dropping his prices, and offering incentives on his new homes. Our home went under contract in 45 days, in the middle of a week of Hurricane weather. Amazing, just amazing! Thank you so much. We will tell everyone about you.” Top qualities: High Integrity ~ M.S.

“Thank you so much for helping me sell my little starter home within 30 days, for $10,000. more than all the homes in my neighborhood sold for, and in a falling market, with a foreclosure home right next door to me. I’m still shocked, and I didn’t even have to pay closing costs for the Buyer. WOW! Some things you just don’t question. I love my new home, and I am so happy you insisted on paying for that Home Warranty for me. It was a lifesaver when I had a water pipe leak in my new home. Thank you for continuing to follow up with me even after we closed. You have turned out to be a great friend.” ~ Tammy

When we bought our first home, my husband and I would have made a giant mistake with our first home purchase, but luckily we had Liz Rogers as our Real Estate Agent to prevent us from that. We had fallen quickly for a well-decorated home that was overpriced for the market. Liz, with her background in Real Estate Appraisal, educated us on how a Split Foyer home in a neighborhood of Colonial Homes, could effect us on our current purchase and future sale of the home. Liz encouraged us to look at just a few more homes before making an offer. We soon found a beautiful house, in a better neighborhood, with 1,000 more square ft. in size, and $30K LESS in Price! Liz, could have benefited from a quick commission at a higher sales price, but Liz put "our best interests first", and that is why we recommend her to all our friends. ~ Matt and Jennifer Child

As a home inspector I work with many real estate agents, Liz is a rare individual that not only puts her client first during the sales/purchase process, but continues to work hard after the sale to make sure her clients get the support that they need.
