Food never arrived. I gave it an hour. When I called the woman dismissed me and said that all the orders were already out and that she would call grubhub to figure why they never received the order. 10 minutes later, the driver calls me to say the food is already cold and he's at the restaurant and that I should call the third party delivery service to rectify. No explanation for why the story flip flopped, did you think I would not notice? Clearly the order was forgotten. Rather than rectify the situation by re-preparing the meal and delivering it, you call me and can't even deliver the truth? Offensive. And, yes, I'm hungry.

Response from the owner - in the last week
I can imagine how frustrating this must have been for you, Reilly -- you deserve a fresh and delicious meal from us, and I'm disappointed that you didn't get that. Our delivery system is a third party, so I don't have control over their routes and system, but I apologize for the hassle. I'd really like to make this right with you, so please call me with some more details about your order so I can fix everything with Grubhub. Our number is (415)400-5453 -- I look forward to speaking more with you. -Adriana, Owner

Freaking amazing food. Instead of getting the arepa, get the cachapa. It's a couple more dollars for pretty much double the food and it's basically an arepa. Yellow sweet corn is the best. Also try the yuca frita!
Response from the owner - 2 months ago
Wow, Alberto -- I'm so happy to see you're a big fan of the cachapas and the yuca fries! I hope you'll make it in here soon to try some more of our great options. -Adriana, Owner

As a wheat-free foodie (allergy reasons not health fad), this naturally wheat free place caught my eye and I was really hoping it would live up to my expectations. It really did! Their meat was perfectly seasoned, the corn tortillas tasty and thick but not chewy, and the portions were much bigger than you need to be satisfied. My favs were the pulled pork nachos (those plantain and taro chips are to die for), and the spicy chicken arepa. Definitely will be back to try the rest of the menu!

You made some great choices on the menu, Dot! We're proud to be 100% gluten free, and we're happy to give you the peace of mind knowing that cross contamination isn't an issue here. I'm thrilled you liked everything, and I hope you'll be back soon. Might I suggest trying the pulled pork arepa next time you're here? I think you'll love it! -Adriana, Owner

Loved the spicy chicken cachapa, although I'm not sure where the 'spicy' part was. Add a dab of mojo sauce and your good to go. The garlic yuka fries were awesome too.

Thomas, it's great you got to try the spicy chicken cachapa -- I'm really happy you enjoyed it! We have sauces, like the mojo sauce, so you can create something personalized to your taste. Hope to see you back for another one soon! -Adriana, Owner

Pics Pica is an awesome, casual spot that consistently serves delicious food. I'm a fan of their classics white arepas with crispy chicken, jicama and other tasty things. I highly recommend this place whenever in the Mission and looking for something tasty and laid back.

Oh gosh - I can't wait to go back! The shredded beef arepa is savory and sweet and perfect in every way. Super friendly staff, convenient to Bart, laid-back place. The food was more filling than I expected - I only wanted more because it was so tasty.
Response from the owner - 3 months ago
Nicole, I always enjoy seeing reviews like this -- thank you for such kind words. The shredded beef is always a favorite here, so I am just delighted that you liked it all! I can't wait to have you back again soon to try some other great arepas! -Adriana, Owner

Update March 2015: I've been disappointed the last few times I've had food from Pica Pica. The fillings are missing seasoning and taste bland. I'm not sure what happened :( Updating my review from 5 stars to 3 Original review: Pica Pica's arepas are tasty and really filling. I usually get a combo with the Pelu'a and yucca (cassava) fries. The staff are always warm even when the small storefront is packed. I can survive on one combo for an entire day, that's what I call value! :-P Fresh ingredients, well prepared, and fast.

Jordan, this doesn't sounds like us at all, so I apologize that we haven't given you our best. None of our recipes or methods have changed, so I'm surprised you've tasted anything different. I would still love to have you back in so we can show you the perfect experience you had the first time. -Adriana, Owner
