Excellent, attentive yet not 'how is everything' while you are in the middle of a sentence type of service. The wine list is one of the best in the city, by the glass pricing is fair, and the food is superb.

After waiting about 20 minutes to get waited on I finally went to the hostess to let her know, no one had been around. The food was good, but our waiter didn't really bother with us too much. I was never asked if I wanted a refill on my drink, and it took the waiter another 20 minutes after we were done to bring our bill. I had a $75.00 gift card, but the bill was only $53.62. I was told I wouldn't get another back with the balance. They didn't do that. I will NEVER go back.

Worst experience ever! We had reservations for 9, after a hour and a half they seat us. Comp'ed our apps so that was ok. The server didn't tell us they were out of the specials until 2 of us tried to order them. Word of advice, the items they list at the bottom of the menu as also available are way too expensive for the little amount you get. Will never return there.

Hardly Anything to Choose from on the Menu. And the Portion was so small for being so Expensive. Waiter Hustled Us and Made it Seem like the Salad my boyfriend got came w/ the meal but in the end it didn't and We Had 2 Pay Extra for It. Prob Wont Go Here Again.

I went to The Carlton today for lunch. I was impressed immediately upon entry. The decor is a little bit dark, but I like that. The open display of wine bottles adds a great touch to the center dining area. I had the eggplant parmesan soup as an appetizer. Absolutely phenomenal. For my entree, I had the diver scallops with risotto. The scallops were perfectly cooked and the risotto was very creamy and flavorful. Even the complimentary bread was great. Our server, Amber, was very attentive, cheerful, and very helpful on recommendations when asked. All in all I had a great experience there and will return again. Highly recommend this place!!!!

while visiting Pittsburgh wanted a nice meal. so we didnt have to drive (stayed in a hotel downtown) decided to east in Carlton. the restaurant has somewhat of an upscale feel, but the food wasnt good. neither one of us liked our food. for the price of each dish it could be much better. not coming back.
