Just exactly what I was looking for. It is a comfortable elegant place. The bartender makes you feel relaxed and welcomed. The foods are very tasty and flavorful. Great steak!

Looked good sounded good....wasn't good. Menu was all over the place, flavor profile on ahi appetizer was just plain weird.....screaming hot jalapeños with raw tuna. NO! Pork chop was like a salt lick....ugh. Again the plate was mixed with the weirdest items that did not go together...peppers, pea pods and apricots....eeeeewww. Gordon Ramsey would go nuts. How odd and so disappointing..... Go somewhere else!!!!

I went here last night after my Commencement ceremony ended at the XL Center. I was so surprised they had room for my family, friend and myself of course considering the fact that a thousand graduates and their family members were all looking for a place to eat. The environment was very nice and classy, the service was excellent, top notch food and with that being said it is a bit pricey but so worth it. I was congratulated many times by many different staff in the restaurant and when i ordered desert they had written "Congratulations" on my plate next to my cheesecake (which i recommend by the way). Along with this they gave me a card which the staff had signed once again congratulating me for my graduation. Truly a wonderful experience, i would definitely recommend this place if you're going out for a special occasion or a lovely dinner dinner for two.

I went here with a party of 19. It took us a little while to get seated in the private room but no fault of there's. When we finally got seated it took them an hour to bring us ANY bread but yet the table was set with butter. Being that I'm pregnant my stomach was eating at itself. We finally order which for 19 people you should have two waitstaff!!! I got the tomato and vegetable soup as did my fiancée an it was reallllyyy good. But our dinners with absolutely disgusting! I got the burger with Vermont cheddar and French onion stuff! It was dry dry dry. It came with smoked biscuit bits an they tasted like they were cooked hours ago an re-heated. My fiancée got the only chicken dish they had an it was dry and had no taste. For $100+ I was so unsatisfied that I left early. The staff was so friendly so I didn't want to go off about the food. I wish they also have a pasta dish for people who prefer not to eat meat or fish. It was really weird.

From the time we enter , we were greeted , to the moment we left, the staff were very polite The options are extensive and delicious. The server helped us pick out the best things to order with great wine pairing.

Max Downtown 4/25/15- We had a 6:45 reservation did not get seated until 7:20, we did not get our appetizers until 8:30, this was the worse Max's experience we have ever had. The service was terrible, the meal was horrible (they served me the wrong steak), the environment was awful, overall experience could not have been worse. The manager did not do one thing to try and make it better even after telling them how horrible the experience was for a 200$ dinner. No thanks never again!!!

Last night we had the pleasure of dining here at Max Downtown. It was our first experience with this restaurant and lets just say it was phenomenal. The setting is very fancy and romantic which is great for a night out with family or friends or for a date night. Every choice on the menu sounded amazing so we had a hard time choosing. Our wonderful and friendly server Sarah was very knowledgeable of the menu and the specials and gave us great feedback. We went with the Lobster Bisque and Wedge salad for our starters and were very pleased ! for our main entrée we went with the "Oscar" filet mignon and the A la Max. they were cooked perfectly to our liking and the flavor and plating was just awesome. We can not say enough good things about our experience and are already eager to go back! Thank you Sarah and Max Downdown
