Trying to decide between abandoning G+ and doing some combination of adjusting feeds & uncircling people… There is altogether too much in my G+ about writing/publishing. Too many posts, too many links, too many opinions. I find them both detrimental to my mental health and difficult to resist; I always seem to think "surely if my friend, a trusted/respected author/whomever thinks this is a worthwhile and enriching post, it must be okay to read." But it isn't, generally.
If you're an author/editor/publisher/agent/reviewer making these posts, have you considered making a circle of interested people to send them to, instead of making them all 'Public'? Or making the posts as part of an appropriate community? I don't want to avoid all your posts, just the ones on this topic which is currently quite upsetting to me.
Sigh. In semi-related news, the G+ for iPad interface (probably thoughtlessly, rather than as part of an intentional design to limit the length of posts) doesn't scroll properly when you write past a dozen lines, and won't even show the entirety of the last line if you scroll manually while writing. Well, apparently only in landscape mode, which is how I use my iPad 95% of the time. That's another reason to consider just abandoning G+.
