What a great experience and fun time we had. I took my niece and nephew a few weeks ago and spent the entire day!! We especially loved the butterfly exhibit and were surprised to see all the creatures that lived there. The outdoor water views were amazing. We are now members. Well worth it:) Looking forward to going back

If you're going to it thinking it will be a big place like the natural history museum in the city then you'll be very disappointed. It took about an hour to walk around the entire place and see everything. Food court was subpar as my burger was burnt to a crisp. School cafeteria lunches are better. Overpriced too. The best parts of the entire place were the shark tank, feeding the stingrays, and the sea lion show. Everything else was tiny and barely present. If you're thinking about going, do this instead, take the train to nyc and go to a museum there. It'll cost you about the same price and you'll get more for your money.

the aquarium is beautiful with lots of things to do, we all loved the salt marsh (free) and the butterflies (extra). I am not sure if others on this list go to the bronx zoo or ny aquarium but you have to pay to park at those facilities and it costs about the same to get in any recreational place. there are tanks where the kids can touch animals and wonderful shows. If you enjoy animals it is a must see on Long Island

It was honestly depressing & overpriced. First off the "exhibits" are extremely small for the animals they hold. The monkeys were pacing back and forth in their "exhibit" ( more like cage). The monkeys were also glued to the top corners of the "exhibit" looking out from the fence holes. The front of the aquarium before you walk in, holds a couple of seals that is also a way too small exhibit. The sloth "exhibit" is extremely small with two other porcupines cramped in there. The aquarium itself can be seen all under probably an hour, which is why I believe it's way too overpriced, and they also have a bunch of other over priced add ons like feeding this & that.

Surprisingly large and varied exhibits, from sand tiger sharks, to Japanese monkeys, to butterflies. Worth the trip.

My wife and I were staying in Southampton following a week long holiday in Manhattan (We're from Northern Ireland). We stopped off at this aquarium on one of our days touring the North Fork and I'm very glad we did. My wife, who normally hates being dragged to museums etc., thoroughly enjoyed the experience. We spent around 2 hours exploring the various exhibits, learning from the employees and simply relaxing. Well worth a visit if you're in the area. I can only imagine the negative reviews are from people who a) expected too much or b) don't have any particular interest in sea life or animals.

Expensive- and exhibits are extra. If you go on the boat ride don't expect much. Teenagers do the "educational" talk. If you grew up on Long Island you will find the talk borderline retarded. Your kids will have fun though just bring a full wallet as nothing here is cheap.
