So, so, so cool. Beyond cool.

Ok, these are awesome - click through and take a look at these equations.
If you've never been good at math and you love to draw, here's a little revenge exercise. You can torture numbers into very unmathematical contortions — contortions that will make you smile.

Nice! We'll look at these with our short people. We've been reading these and discussing their pages as bed time stories and are finding that they're great prompts for interesting talks: http://v.gd/soI3PX http://v.gd/HrTlhZ

Just watched this mini movie. It's poetic and charming so wanted to share it --StreetView meets Toy Story. Incredibly heartwarming to see the magical way people around the world are inspired by Google products.

An article on how it was made:

Now I know exactly what it sounds like to have some large number of vehicles with sirens visit my neighborhood at 3am.

Oh, if emergency workers are needed, I'm glad they are there to do the job at whatever time and place. But I think everyone would have been better off if there had been no emergency. =)

Congratulations to Will and the team at Quri for rocking AllThingsD!

My company, Quri (http://quricorp.com), just gave a killer demo at D10 (the All Thing D conference)!
Quri's new app lets you earn a few extra bucks as you shop.

Why last night was different from all other nights...

My first upload/comment on Google+. Honestly, I'm not sure how this works but wanted to share a lucky photo I caught this evening.

The status quo is very good (just look at the results), but imagine what we could do....

I think the first commenter does have a valid point in that "how we define merit" is of some importance in helping to alleviate the clear problem that we currently see.

It's a value judgment and as such questions some of the basic values we have as a society. Remember when it was thought that women couldn't possibly hold jobs, they were too soft and sweet? And now we realize that not all women are soft and sweet and that aggression in the workplace is not always welcome. How did we get here? How can we take the lessons we learned in this path and apply them forward?

Gmail's new look!

Today, we launched our new Gmail UI (http://gmailblog.blogspot.com/2011/11/gmails-new-look.html). You can opt-in to the new UI from a link at the bottom right corner (if you don’t see it yet, wait for a little bit!) Our blog post lists all the new, exciting features like the new, simplified conversation view, elasticity, new advanced search and many more (see screenshots). A huge compliment to the awesome Gmail team for pulling off this big redesign in a pretty short time frame. Try it out and let me know if you like it!

Sidenote: Within Gmail, this project was known as The Pony Project (because, well, who doesn't want to have a pony?) Towards the end of the project we had an internal contest to address all the outstanding usability issues, bugs and visual improvements. The prize for the engineer who closed the most was the "My Little Rogue" pony from Mari Kasurinen that you see in the pictures.

I still think the UI wastes space. There's no reason to have two fat menu bars when you could get by fine with one. The top of my chrome browser does ten times as much stuff with less confusion in less space.

And please let me change black back to blue without having to have custom css.
