TiddlyWiki Notebook.
TiddlyWiki had been around for a long time. "Use it to keep your to-do list, to plan an essay or novel, or to organise your wedding. Record every thought that crosses your brain, or build a flexible and responsive website."

It's quite difficult to summarize what Tiddlywiki does, as it sort of does everything! It's uses standard HTML5, so should work with any modern browser. There are lots of plugins, including one that encrypts the wiki, making it useful for storing sensitive information that you may want to refer to when browsing the web.

The standard installation only stores information on the computer where you install TiddlyWiki. However, there are services that allow you store your Tiddly's in the cloud, so they are accessible from anywhere. If you don't trust the various cloud providers, you can run it on your own server, provided that you can run Nodejs on the server.
