545 vs. 300,000,000  People
This is about as clear and easy to understand as it can be. The article below is completely neutral, neither anti-republican nor democrat. Charlie Reese, a retired reporter for the Orlando Sentinel, has hit the nail directly on the head, defining clearly who it is that in the final analysis must assume responsibility for the judgments made that impact each one of us every day. It's a short but good read. Worth the time. Worth remembering!

545 vs. 300,000,000  People
By Charlie  Reese

Politicians are the only people in the world who create problems and then campaign against them.

Have you ever wondered, if both the Democrats and the Republicans are against deficits, WHY do we have deficits?

Have you ever wondered, if all the politicians are against inflation and high taxes, WHY do we have inflation and high taxes?

You and I don't propose a federal budget.   The President does.

You and I don't have the Constitutional authority to vote on appropriations.   The House of Representatives does.

You and I don't write the tax code,   Congress does.

You and I don't set fiscal policy,   Congress does.

You and I don't control monetary policy,   the Federal Reserve Bank does.

One hundred senators,  435 congressmen, one President, and nine Supreme Court justices equates to 545  human beings out of the 300 million are directly, legally, morally, and  individually responsible for the domestic problems that plague this  country.

I excluded the members of the Federal Reserve Board because that problem was created by the Congress.  In 1913, Congress delegated its Constitutional duty to provide a sound currency to a federally chartered, but private, central bank.

I excluded all the special interests and lobbyists for a sound reason. They have no legal authority. They have no ability to coerce a senator, a congressman, or a President to do one cotton-picking thing. I don't care if they offer a politician $1 million dollars in cash. The politician has the power to accept or reject it. No matter what the lobbyist promises, it is the legislator's responsibility to determine how he votes.

Those 545 human beings spend much of their energy convincing you that what they did is not their fault.  They cooperate in this common con regardless of party.

What separates a politician from a normal human being is an excessive amount of gall. No normal human being would have the gall of a Speaker, who stood up and criticized the President for creating deficits. The President can only propose a budget. He cannot force the Congress to accept it.

The Constitution, which is the supreme law of the land, gives   sole responsibility to the House of Representatives for originating and approving appropriations and taxes. Who is the speaker of the House? John Boehner. He is the leader of the majority party. He and fellow   House members,   not  the President , can approve any budget they want . If the President vetoes it, they can pass it over his veto if they agree to.

It seems inconceivable to me that a nation of 300 million cannot replace 545 people who stand convicted -- by present facts -- of incompetence and irresponsibility. I can't think of a single domestic problem that is not traceable directly to those 545 people. When you fully grasp the plain truth that 545 people exercise the power of the federal government, then it must follow that what exists is what they want to exist.

If the tax code is unfair, it's because they want it unfair.

If the budget is in the red, it's because they want it in the red.

If the Army &  Marines are in Iraq and Afghanistan it's because they want them in Iraq and  Afghanistan ...

If they do not receive social security but are on an elite retirement plan not available to the people,  it's because they want it that way.

There are no insoluble government problems.

Do not let these 545 people shift the blame to bureaucrats, whom they hire and whose jobs they can abolish; to lobbyists, whose gifts and advice they can reject; to regulators, to whom they give the power to regulate and from whom they can take this power.  Above all, do not let them con you into the belief that there exists disembodied mystical forces like "the economy," "inflation," or "politics" that prevent them from doing what they take an oath to do.

Those 545 people and they alone, are responsible.

They and they alone, have the power.

They and they alone, should be held accountable by the people who are their bosses.

Provided the voters have the gumption to manage their own employees...

We should vote all of them out of office and clean up their mess!

CAN ANYONE QUESS WHAT THIS IS?

I found this in my yard, dont know what it might be, can anyone help.
It has surface stains that cuts down the translucence in the photos.
It does appear to clear inside and not opaque.
It does not seem to have any oclusions on the inside.
There appears to be a tea like stain equally diffused in the center.
It does seem to be a bit heavier than a rock of the same size.

This explains how I see the situation. It is the best article I have read, and I read a lot of them. I understand what direction the writer is going and agree. I have lived in Saudi for 11 years, but the writer has been traveling the ME for 30 years and has a complete understanding.

+Bruce Kendall Hi Bruce, the net is full of these misleading information the resort has been closed.

The management of Rama Kien Lifestyle Resort clarified recently that the resort most certainly is open for business. Any other information you can find on the internet is misleading because of referring to an incident which happened about 2 years ago, turned out to be a major misunderstanding, as there were no local laws broken. The resort reopened within a few days for business.

Introduction

When explaining naturism to others  I use the list below:

What are naturists really?

1. We are people that look you in the eye when talking to you.
2. We are people that have respect for people of all shapes and sizes.
3. We are people that like you, for being you and not what brand you wear.
4. We are people that don't make rude or sexual comments to you or about you.
5. We are people that enjoy meeting the real you, not someone you pretend to be.
6. We are people that come from all walks of life and professions.
7. We are people that are friendlier than regular people.
8. We are people that don't think a nude body is a sexual statement.
9. We are people that don't like to wear clothes.

Most people are with you right through number 8, I  After I tell them number 9, they say that’s OK.

Try using it maybe this will help you explain it to others.

About Me
How old are you now? On the outside or on the inside? I always had a problem when I was younger- people said to me "Why don't you grow up." Mean shits they were. Then I realized I will be still be young (in mind) when they are old (at 45). The Saudi's say I have a "Green Heart". Many of their fathers are as old as I but they are shocked when I tell them my age. Their fathers are retired and usually somewhat infirm. The only time that I think I am old is when I shave in the morning. There is this old guy looking back at me from the mirror, who I barely recognize. Oh ya, sometimes I feel that my syndrome (A g E Syndrome) is catching up with me, but then I run a little faster (not really run I am not that stupid). Sometimes I think I have out run it. It usually only lasts for a few days. I am having the best time of my life. Born in Washington, graduated Renton High, served in the US Army in Germany, worked in Saudi Arabia, and traveled a lot and plan on moving to Thailand. One of the oldest Techno Geeks around. I was using hyper text before you were born. A creative master in Photoshop and passable in Dreamweaver. Don't ask me IF I can do something in graphics, just tell me what you want.

Naked is the natural state of a human being.

Why being naked is not a sin, immoral or indecent.

We were created in our “creator’s image”. I would venture a guess that this means our creator is nude, or was nude when he created us. Was he only nude when he created Adam and Eve, or was he nude when he created each one of us? So Christians must believe that GOD was a nudist, at least at some point?

Did he create us with clothes upon our backs? Most of us know the answer to that. If you disagree, then what style of clothes was he wearing, a robe, swim suit, or a three piece suit? And if you weren't  nude when you were born what style of clothes were you wearing?

So how can being nude be wrong? Being nude and going about your business and daily life is not immoral or indecent. You are doing in it in a GOD endorsed manner. Many naturist believe that being naked brings them closer to GOD, just as being naked and barefoot on a nice grassy area gives one a feeling of total harmony.

If you use your nakedness to entice or incite others to perform or think about immoral or indecent acts or thought that is another matter altogether. It is what you are DOING while naked, it is not that fact that you are naked. If a person is wearing a big knife on a belt and another person who has a big knife is waving it around and threatening people with it, which is the wrong?

When a young child, without clothing, is seen at the beach playing in the sand and water, no one thinks this is immoral or indecent. But let it be someone that someone above the age of puberty and low and behold it is time to put a stop to that. The immoral and indecent thoughts are actually in the mind of the viewer and not in the mind of the person playing in the water. So which person should we make change? Society in all its wisdom (?) has chosen to chastise or punish the person who is not doing anything indecent and support the person who is having immoral thoughts. That is so bizarre.  It really goes outside my ability to consider this as correct thinking in any form.

Religions believe that as the men cannot control their lustful thoughts if they see female skin, they require women to cover so as not to tempt men in thinking immoral thought or taking immoral actions. Men just need to grow up and stop acting like teenagers with raging hormones.

Women that cover all or part of their body with clothes or material and dance or pose in an exotic manner actually become more sexy that one being totally nude sitting and reading a book, or doing something mundane and routine.

In my travels I have met naturists from every major religion (Christian, Muslim, Jewish, Buddhist, Hindu and Pagan), so being or wanting to be nude is not based on religion. They come from every continent and country, so it is not a national thing, and neither is it a cultural thing. It can be a family tradition or not, it depends on the family. But just because a family is not naturist doesn't affect whether the offspring will be not naturist. I have met naturists that hold jobs from a taxi driver to CEO of major corporations. They come in all ages, shapes and sizes, all different colors and races; it is a microcosm of the real world.

Naturism is something within the individual, something that springs out of their thoughts and spirit. Once you let it form completely within you, you change. You are more secure in yourself, less intimidated by others and feel better about your body and person. Once it has fully form within you, there is no one that can intimidate you, not your boss that’s for sure. There was a time when a boss that I had used intimidation as management tool. I realized sometime later as I progressed as a naturist; that his intimidation tactics didn't work on me. One day I told him, you are going to have try something else to manage me, as intimidation doesn't work on me. He changed to something much more positive and we got along find since that day.

The day that really changed things for me; was the day I told my friend and co-worker that I was a naturist. No I didn't stand on my desk and shout it to the whole office. The reaction wasn't what I expected which was pleasant. Oh, he kids me sometimes but in a fun way, not being mean or stupid, and we have a good laugh.

Once you reach this stage, of being able to tell anyone that you believe in naturism, you will feel strength, contentment and be at peace with yourself. You will have more kindness and compassion for others and others that have the same will sense it in you.

Being a Buddhist myself I felt like I reached a higher level of enlightenment, not a top level but a higher level than I was on.
