Alberta’s Learning and Technology Policy Framework (LTPF) establishes a common vision for government and school authorities across the province with respect to how technology should support student learning in the K-12 education system. This vision of student-centred learning emphasizes the importance of enabling and supporting students to use technology to create and share knowledge.

Cliched...I know...but a good illustration none the less...
Problem-based learning, makerspaces, flipped learning, student blogging -- these are becoming perceived staples of 21st-century learning. With such ambitious practices taking the spotlight for how people regard modern classrooms, it's not surprising that a murmur of impracticality or skepticism is still a frequent response when they're first introduced.

SAMR is a model designed to help educators infuse technology into teaching and learning. Popularized by Dr. Ruben Puentedura, the model supports and enables teachers to design, develop, and infuse digital learning experiences that utilize technology. The goal is to transform learning experiences so they result in higher levels of achievement for students.

EDU 414: Ed Tech Class starts tomorrow...super excited!

+Eric Koleda Hey Eric, any chance the new sites is going to get Apps Script integration? If not, what is the timeline to sunset the old version of sites? We have thousands of people relying on apps that run integrated onto webpages in the old version of sites. It's not the end of the world as I can integrate the HTML into the app and run it as a Web Service, but it sure would make a lot less work...

I have updated the mark*N*mail app and added some new features. As of right now, it is beta and I do not have any tutorials available yet. However, hopefully it will be intuitive enough...

NEW FEATURES:
- Mark items as "Written" so you can mark individual student's short answers and essays.
- Change mark values and student marks on the fly. Averages are updated in the app and on the spreadsheet as you mark.
- Chart page added for quick synopsis (it's kind of weak right now cough)
- Drag and drop windows for the Scratchpad
- Teacher Comments
- Save PDF reports to a mark*N*mail forlder in Drive
- Mail just the marks or full reports to students
- Select which students to mail to

Any feedback would be great and feel free to pass the link on to other teachers to try out - but let them know it is in beta and there may be a few bugs.

TIP: When marking (or-remarking) click on a question's icon to change what happens to that question:

- Check icon - Mark the Item
- Doc icon - Mark the Item as a Written Response (for essay, short answer, etc) you can mark these items later in the student view
- Do Not icon - Do not mark the icon - will not be included in marking
- User icon - Select this item as your student usernames to email responses after marking
- Help - not finished yet...
