#CertifiedSofrito is my way of recognizing entities that we see truly serving the Latino communities they touch day in and day out, that have a consistent record of producing quality content and last but not least, they make us feel WEPA all the time. Simply put, my Favoritos!

In January… I would like to recognize Piel Canela, an International Dance Company located right here in NYC.

Saludos, My name is George Torres and I have a real cool bio that is written in 3rd person that I did on the advice of an image consultant... you can read that by clicking here... But if you want to a behind the scenes look at who I really am as a person and a professional, read on...

Who am I?

As an established multimedia online cultural curator specializing in the Latino segment, I help individuals and collectives make their projects come to life. Clients who have collaborated with me quickly discover how my experience breathes life into their vision. We have over 15 years experience building communities around ideas online and transitioning them into real life movements.

Here are some of the resources within my reach...

- The Blog that started it all... Sofrito For Your Soul and the corresponding Facebook Fan Page.
- Capicu Cultural Showcase, Live Event Management / Arts Community Building Project.
- Latino Community Info, a community job board for multicultural / bilingual jobseekers.

In addition to these projects, you can work with me via Sofrito Media Group, the umbrella that oversees my consultant services. Because what I do is extremely unique, you may just want to schedule a quick call with me to see if I can be of any assistance with your project. Click here to contact me.

My life offline is full of love and joy. I am married and have a beautiful family, each member with their unique talents and personalities that keep me well grounded. I have over 20 years experience in Management in fields ranging from Executive Dining Services to Retail Sales. I continue to work a full time position with one of the world's leading mobile wireless carriers that shall remain nameless as the comments I make on this or any social network are mine and mine alone.

My passion in life is learning and immersing myself within the Latino Cultural Diaspora. It is my life long dream to be a full time philanthropist that builds self sustaining communities that thrive on social good. Success for me is being able to impact people's lives, see them make their dreams come true and pay it forward.

I am currently the Social Media Chair for both the Por Tu Familia NYC group, a Latino initiatives project for the American Diabetes Association and Muevete!, a Latino / Youth Conference that is about to re-emerge in NYC. Last but not least, I am an active brother of Phi Iota Alpha Fraternity, Inc... The Oldest Latino Fraternity In Existence.

You have a lot of choices of where to connect with me since I am online almost all the time... pick a network that suits you and let's start our conversation.
