Houtzaagmolen de Salamander te Leidschendam. De molen is gebouwd in 1777 en was tot 1953 in bedrijf.

Het Binnenhof prachtig verlicht in de vooravond. Waarschijnlijk is dit het oudste parlementsgebouw van Europa.

De molen de Zeldenrust dateert uit 1621 en is in 1870 verplaatst voor een spoorlijn.

Dit is een van de twee molens van Geffen en samen met de kerk vormen zij de skyline van Geffen.

These days we hear about fake news almost every day, as if it is something new. The real true is that it is not. Here is a story about life on the moon, printed in the New York Sun in August 1835. It led to enourmous buzz in the USA and Europe, and other newspapers where re-printing the story over-and-over. Frequently it was used by newspapers to increase profits:

" ... the Sun did make a large profit from the moon hoax. It did so by selling the complete text of the lunar discoveries as a special-edition pamphlet that it put on sale on August 31 for one shilling. It also sold various lithographic prints showing fanciful scenes of Herschel's lunar discoveries, such as the lunar animals and the Ruby Colosseum. It commissioned the production of these prints from the Wall Street lithographers Norris & Baker ... "
