I'm happy and proud to announce that my first solo recording of original contemporary acoustic guitar compositions, One Size Does Not Fit All, is now available. My music website has been completely overhauled and re-launched--drop by and leave me a note. To audition the tracks or to purchase the recording, visit my BandCamp page. I hope y'all enjoy it!

"I feel it in my fingers, I feel it in my toes,
Snow is all around me, and so the snowbanks grow...
It's covering my windows, it's everywhere I go,
Now I'm sittin' waitin', for the plow to show..."

(my shoulders are a little worse for the wear, too!)

Sing to the tune of The Troggs "Love is All Around Me"

On this, the first day of Nova Scotia's "African Heritage Month," curious minds want to know "where is Aboriginal Heritage Month or Asian Heritage Month or European Heritage Month or, even (gasp) Canadian Heritage Month? Our problem is that we too often identify ourselves based on our place of origin rather than WHERE WE ARE...wouldn't it make more sense if we identified ourselves as, for example, a Canadian of Italian descent rather than "Italian-Canadian"? Perhaps if we remember that we are more the same than different then our differences will become less consequential...

For anyone who might have missed it, hell has indeed frozen over (and pigs are flying over my humble abode)...as FDR would say, "a day which will live in infamy."

To my American friends, a quote from my mother, may she rest in peace: "You made your bed, now lie in it!" Be careful what you wish for...

First Papilio video, for Stan Roger's song "The Giant" is up. We picked this song when we were asked to join the "Singing Stan" show at StanFest one year...we wanted to pick something no-one else was doing but was topical and had some Nova Scotia roots. On another note, this may be the first public display of the use of slap harmonics on a bouzar (a guitar-shaped Irish bouzouki...)!

The view from Canada: The US Presidential election is reality TV at its finest! I hesitate to say, "it couldn't get any weirder" because I know it can (and will)! I've never been so glad to be Canadian!
