On left:
This 1937 photo was taken on Metairie Road near the railroad tracks where Focis St. intersects. It includes the Oriental Laundry and the Great Atlantic & Pacific grocery store. Metairie Rd. heads west off to the left and Focis heads north off to the right. In later years Metairie Ford and the Do-Drive-In were located in the area behind the trees in the center of the photo.
On right:
The view looking east down Metairie Road toward the railroad tracks. This 1937 photo includes the Metairie Market, a bakery, and Metairie Hardware.
