You know? Next to the sight of the starving children (well, what's left of them..) and the oppressive dictator, it's actually a nice place. Green lawns. Plenty of space due to the lack of population. Very peaceful. Not a single dog barks. Ever. Hmm. ;) haha

The Kumsusan Memorial Palace, (Susan for short), which I am told is the grand high General Kim Il-Sung's shag pad, never saw that one on MTV Cribs so it must be super exclusive.. Got thrown out for trying to practice my dentistry skills on the remains of Kim Jong-Il, turns out not all asians have buck teeth... They didnt have a Burger King on site, but they did have a 'General Kim's Fried Pooch', which I considered very sub standard compared to other fast food joints I have been to in the past. Watching the head chef steal a small childs puppy while screaming 'I MAKE YOO TOURIST TASTY HOT DOG!!' made me sad :( The guards are definately NOT like the ones at Buckingham palace, who wont smile or break their stare, this was tested when I gave one the finger and told him I thought 'Kim Il-Sung is a pole-smoker'. One rifle butt to the face later and I'm off to Yodok again...

$900 or so million to renovate this place as a tribute to a couple of deranged tyrants who brutalized, imprisoned, starved, tortured and killed millions of their own people...and that money is spent while millions of North Koreans are starving. Pathetic.

People of North Korea...From time to time the tree of liberty must be nourished with the blood of patriots and tyrants. Prepare for glory.

It's basically a Taj Mahal for an autocratic, oppressive dictator who killed off most of its people. One star for the star on its flag.

Really cool place. The lawns were really really big, and people strolling around everywhere. Funny thing- nobody was walking their dogs. Come to think of it, I haven't seen any pets of any kind since I got here. Not sure what to make of it.
