Here is a real review of Rosa's Place. I too used a Groupon here more than once. Read the Groupon, as it specifically says taxes on top of the total value of the deal. Cost is quite reasonable considering the food is authentic and delicious. Service can be slow at times, but when you consider a 5 course meal, sometimes a bit of a break is proper etiquette. This place is not perfect, it's hard to find perfect, but if you are looking for a really tasty meal with pleasant serving staff, I suggest giving it a try. I've been enough times to know that we have not once been let down by the food.

I had really poor experience with Rosa's Place. I will tell you "Never Again". We had a Groupon for Friday Evening. First, we were surprised with a special menu for Groupon - we had no idea that we would get not a regular one. The service was like in a cheap cafe not in Restaurant. The meal was really terrible. We took antipasti misto - cold grilled pepper, 2 pieces and cold eggplant, and Caesar - nothing special. For primi we had only 2 options - Penne Vodka and Penne with tomatoes, nothing really nothing special. But worst of all were main dishes. My husband took Veal Medallions. They were really impossible. Made of cheap meat. I am not a fan of red meat but this was really too bad. I took a chicken with mozzarella and tomato sauce. My chicken was covered with cheap tomato sauce from the can. I could not even understand the taste of the chicken itself. The desserts were tasty but coffee - it is really something that you do not expect to get in a Italian Restaurant. I can not remember the time when I got such terrible coffee for the last time. But hat I like the most about this is how they calculate the tips - tips in the amount of 15 % of the full prices of the dishes - they created the price for Veal Medallions 36 or 39 $ - for this money you can get a good steak , is added to your bill. So our bill was 35$ for beverages, 10 for HST - Groupon costed us 70 $ and 27 $ in tips which is ridiculous for the kind of service they provided. They calculated the meal we got as for almost 160 $ and put 15 % of tips. If you are advertising on Groupon attracting new customers, why are you doing everything to prevent these customers from coming again?

Recently went here for a late Vanlentine's Day dinner. We used a Groupon and our meals included 2 of the following: Appetizers, Pasta course, Mains and desserts. The mussels were cooked beautifully and very fresh. The pasta was penne a la vodka with panchetta. It was cooked to a perfect al dente and the sauce was over the top amazing. By the time the mains came we were both stuffed. The dessert was my favorite course. It was cappuccino and creme brule. The service was exceptional and very friendly. The only call out to make is that your tip is included on your bill and they charge it based on the original cost of all the items and still charge the HST as well. I was charged $47.47 on taxes and gratuities which is very ridiculous when my bill was only $24.87 for 2 drinks as I had already purchased a groupon. I asked the Manager and he said this was their policy. Groupon has been contacted about this issue and has refunded my purchase as this is is bad practice on the restaurants behalf.

BEWARE. Got SEVERE food poisoning (from their oysters) and was down for days. On top of that, the food was simply "ok" and overpriced (I would have hoped the meal would have at least been worth getting violently ill over, but alas, it was not...). Will never return. They OBVIOUSLY do not take enough care with their food preparation and practices. Thanks for nothing, Rosa's Place!

As an Italian growing up on traditional and authentic Italian cuisine, I am often disappointed when I go to an "Italian restaurant," but this was not the case at Rosa's Place! The food is incredibly authentic and has me returning several times per month. I have absolutely loved their lamb, veal, several types of fish, pastas and desserts! Their potato and sausage dish is one of my favourites, but I never hesitate to try something new off the menu. The interior is elegant, from their general dining area to the private party room. The staff have always been friendly and helpful with meal choices, and I would definitely recommend it to both Italians, and those who simply love Italian food!

After consulting with a coworker about a few places to go for my mothers birthday, I decided to take his word for it and vist Rosas. I called and made reservations where I had been told that they would put a candle on the desert she ordered. Upon entering the establishment the hostess sat us and asked, whos bday is it? Where I said 'my moms'. When our waiter came to the table, he asked us what we would like to drink, and we said sparkling water, and he responded by saying that we were too cheap for wine. However, I was not sure that that was what he had said because of his accent. However, my mother heard the same thing. When he came back we asked him what he said about the wine and he came up with a bogus excuse... I have been to many restaurants.. classier than this and never have I been called cheap. Im sorry that 55 per person plus tax and gratuity is cheap. On top of that he made us wait to the point where other people cleared our table for us and we ordered our desert with the manager. Thanks for not bringing us the candle as promised. Will not revisit or recommend to anyone. Its too bad one person can ruin your impression of a place.
