We have been going to 411 for several years and there food is delicious. Sometimes there service can be a little on the slow side (during busy times) but it is worth the wait.

I had the lasagna dish. It was crazy good. If I’m ever in the area again, I’m going back. The prices were fair and the service was top notch. Love this place.

It's ok as long as you like salt as the overwhelming flavor of every pasta dish.

411 West is a local favorite with a fairly diverse menu in a very friendly and pleasant setting. Although nominally Italian (and the home made pasta dishes are excellent) there's usually a variety of offerings, including "weekly" (they're usually available for more like a couple of weeks) specials. The lemon linguini with shrimp and scallops is especially good. The salads are also uniformly high quality. Pizzas are sized for one, or as an appetizer for two. At lunchtime, most of the guests are UNC faculty or people who work at local businesses. At dinner, the crowd is a bit more diverse. Weekends vary. When there's a game at UNC, lots of alumni congregate at 411 West. In terms of prices and food quality, this is more upscale than your typical student hangout. It's not the place to grab the cheapest, quickest meal in town but if you want something better, made from quality ingredients, and served by a friendly, competent, and attractive wait-staff, this is an excellent choice.

I have usually found 411 a very satisfactory restaurant. I often order their lemon linguine which is an excellent dish - until 10 days ago when the dish tasted odd. The waitress asked if I wanted to send it back. I declined but ate only a small amount, taking the rest home. I should have trusted my taste buds. At 2am I woke, with a mild case of food poisoning. This led to to 4 days of weakness, stomach cramps, and fatigue. So, although it's usually a fine place, if something tastes wrong, send it back. Lesson learned. Even at the best restaurants, mistakes can be made .

I remember coming to 411 West with my parents as a student. Little has changed since then except for they have expanded into their solarium and added private dining. I enjoyed getting the whole portion of the spaghetti and having two meals out of it. Their full sized pasta portions are unreal. The beef tenderloin pie is AMAZING. Get it as an appetizer and watch your group fight over it. I enjoy their salmon dishes and their Caesar dressing is zesty and fishy - just like it is supposed to be. Service is always gracious and attentive and the atmosphere is lively. They have great specials and I enjoy every visit. Get there early to get a spot at the bar or head in after the dinner rush as their bar staff is second to none.
