I need a break now. This card is a prototype and work in progress. It needs some help being closed, else the butterflye's left wing gets ceased... Dear husband noted that this is an accessability flaw.

I almost got bonkers, that thing wasn't working the way I intended, I even had to cut off some parts of the butterfly's lower wings to make it fit the closed card... But against all odds I start linking it, and it's becoming obvious what needs to be changed in future cards.

There shall be a space to write down a note for the recipient. For right handed people the butterfly is in the way with this arrangement when the empty space would be used this way. If I flip the arrangement the left handed have the same problem...

The colorful papers on the flower and the butterfly are paste papers I made several years ago, the black marks on the wings are drawn with ink pens. The beautiful natural paper of the background is hand pulled, a gift from an Internet friend of mine.

A lot of handicraft in this card.

Hello!

I'd like to introduce myself to this group with a recent painting. It's made with ink pens and watercolor, ca 20x20cm.
I draw with pen and ink, learned figurative painting with acrylics, and try to develop some skills in watercolor.

By now I've just been happily adding pigment layers to some paper. This is nothing bad, but I want to be able to paint more realistic with watercolor. Will have to practice that.

One of my passions is bookbinding, and I always fall in love with some nice paper cuts. So this group sounds very interesting to me.

Cheers Sibylle

I'm sooo proud about what happened on my kitchen table. (and on the bedroom floor)

I was starting off from a pattern called "Lady Rockers", that's a free ebook in german, published by mamahoch2.de.

Instead of using the nice fabric, I started  with some old untaken Tshirt, to sew the first version, because I was almost certain the shirt wouldn't fit at the first try. It took me about three days until I managed to change the pattern and sew that shirt from "good fabric".

But that process was so worth it. I really love to have a basic pattern now for any kind of shirt that I can rely on.

I don't have a fancy sewing machine, so I sew the whole thing with a narrow Zigzag stitch. The hems and the Neck were done with a twin needle. Talking about the neck, that was a bit of a pain, I really need to get better at this technique.

Socks from hell... I'm tempted to say NEVER AGAIN scrap yarn socks. The proof that that's a lye is in the background.

Freestyle #sneakersocks with a probably Estonian heart pattern.

One little card has been finished.

I didn't have any glue at hand, nor did I have the time to make paste... So I used double sided tape to stick the drawing to the card. I'm NOT happy about that detail, tbh. Nobody's perfect. :)
