Probably the only valid co-relation that exists in relation to the poor and educational performance has to do with what underpins poverty and one needs to go a little deeper than just looking at money and look at function. There is a very clear correlation between children with a visual perceptual deficit and them having one or both parents with the same issue. the culture one is immersed in also has a significant impact on limiting a child's functional performance. however. it is not all bad this can be simply and effectively corrected if one knows what one is doing And in case no one has noticed the issue of the growth of lower socio-economic groups is only growing as the rate of growth in this sector explodes. As the percentage climbs closer and closer to 80% then the panic about the decline of general social performance will also accelerate. But it is probably more advantageous to consider the rate of academic decline as it is a precursor to social decline in general. Currently we estimate this to be around 50% here in Tasmania, Australia and many, many parents in the US say it is more like 60% in the US. So, like global warming the whole debate will keep on hotting up.
